Chapter 8 - Darcy

Graces POV: Darcy said she will wait in the car for me because i have to change into my clothes. I get changed and quickly brush my hair as it doesnt take long. I turn around to look in the mirror and see that i have dark circles under my eyes, i must be really tired. I walk out my bedroom door and walk into the bathroom to put a bit of make up on, i dont wear much make up but i decided to today since i look really tired.

I walk downstairs where i see my family watching the tv, reading the newspaper, eating cereal.

"Grace your friend Darcy is here" mums says.

"Mum i know, im going to go to starbucks with her." I reply.

As i walk out the front door I see Darcy petting a stray cat with grey-ish fur and i regognize him as Jake. I walk down to them and pet Jake pretenting not to know who the cat is.

"Okay lets go" Says Darcy to me as she unlocks the car.

I open the door and put my seat belt on but when i go to close my door Jake walks over and tries to talk but of course it comes out as meow.

"Sorry... i cant understand youu..." I say slowly hoping he understands me instead.

I close the door and turn to look at Darcy whos giving me a funny look.

"Grace are you ok?" says Darcy still with a funny look.

"WHAT? im fine what are you talking about?' I reply thinking Darcy knows about my secret.

"Grace you can go back to bed if you want, you're probably still tired or not feeling well" Says Darcy looking out the window.

" DARCY I SAID IM FINE OK?! I yell clearly annoyed.

Darcy just stares at me in suprise and everything just goes quiet. i know ive mad her mad now, all because im tired and she was trying to help me. I un-buckle my seatbelt, open the door and get out. What have i done i think to myself.

I run to the backgate and unlock it not looking back at darcy, i climb up my special tree and cry to myself. when i look up again i see Jake and i stroke him.

"Im Ok, Im fine" I sob quietly.
