Life moves on
and so should we.

"Atem!" Yugi cried out to the love of his life. "Please, I beg you, don't leave me!"
Ever since Yugi was in high school, he thought about life; what he would do and set his goals in the future. Never in his life would he have ever thought about love, love is too complicated.
But he never thought that he would fall in love with a man, especially Atem; the great Egyptian Pharaoh.
Atem and Yugi have shared the same body for a year and through it, things Yugi would never have imagined now seemed to be a normal occurrence that he had accepted and barely noticed anymore. All of the conversations his other half and him had, all of the memories they made, Atem ends up leaving Yugi just when their friendship morphed into something new.
The gods had said, "You both are destined to be together, cherish each other while it lasts."
Yugi didn't know what that meant, until now.
Atem held him in his arms, Yugi remembered how he felt during the night they made love to each other. He felt warm, he always does; like he was his own sun. The love and admiration Yugi felt moments ago was replaced by sadness. He could tell that he doesn't want to go, but if he did stay then evil would strike again.
He has one last mission to accomplish, and that is to leave him.
"I wish with all my heart that I could stay Yugi," Atem struggled to speak, and swallowed before he spoke, "but I can't. I have a job to finish. As Pharaoh I have a duty to my people, even more so to the ones I love. You know what will happen if I stay; Hamadi will return. I am truly sorry, Yugi."
Yugi looked up at him, tears still streaming down his face as he disappeared from view. Just watching Atem walk away is the most painful thing he has ever experienced.
He then walked right into the light, taking Yugis' heart with him.
