Harley's POV

I walked onto the campus grounds, accompanied by Mrs. DeWitt, my guardian. She was my guardian while I was living in Japan. I had transferred from a school in America. I had received a scholarship to Ouran Academy for my writing. I had a lot of thoughts about this school and I knew that there were defiantly things I wouldn't be prepared for. The main thing that I was not ready for, was the fact that the school was pink. PINK. Why, the hell was the school pink? Rich people were weird.

"Harley?" Mrs.DeWitt asked me. "What do you think of your new school?" I wasn't exactly sure what to think. Of course that outdoor decor was beautiful. Every flower was perfect, the fountain water was perfectly clear, and the green grass was perfectly trimmed. Everything was so, perfect. I felt very out of place. As much as I wanted to go to this school, and receive a good education, I felt very awkward. I mean, it wasn't even my first day, I only came to get the paper work finalized, and explore the school.

I was out of place. I didn't want to wear some fancy ridiculous dress! I hated dresses. And everybody looked so proper, and I was hear in my black ripped skinny jeans, and band merch.

"Uh, it's very nice here Mrs.DeWitt." I knew she was worried for me. People were already giving me strange stares. Rich people probably were not use to piercings, and hair dye. I had two ear piercings, one nose piercing, and a lip ring. My original hair color, was hidden another black hair dye.
Oh, and lets not forget the red eyes. They normally scared people off.

Mrs.DeWitt looked at me with worry in her eyes, as she guided me inside the castle like building. She tried making small talk as we walked down the large hall to the office. Her strategy didn't work very well. I could still feel the stares of the students, and hear their whispers.

We arrived in front of the office were a secretary was there to greet us. "Hello Dent, Harley. You must be the new student. I am Semni, Aina." She gave me a big smile. It took me a moment to respond, I was still a little confused about some forms of Japanese culture. Why did they say your last name first? Why don't they say the first name first?

"Yes" I replied. "I'm Dent, Harley." "And you must be her legal guardian, DeWitt, Sarah. Correct?" She asked, looking at Mrs.DeWitt. "Yes, I will be her legal guardian while she is in Japan. But please, just call me Mrs.DeWitt." "Okay, of course. Now, we have a lot of papers to finalize, Harley, can I just call you Harley?" She asked. "Yes." I responded "That's fine." "Okay, well Harley as I was saying, the paper work may take a long while, so I think it would be best if you were to explore the school. Maybe meet some new friends, learn a little about the place, and where everything is. Most of the students should be out of class by now, they're probably all studying, or going to a club. You can stay here if you wish, but it probably won't be much fun. It's your choice."

Mrs.DeWitt had a hopeful look in her eyes. I knew that she wanted me to make friends, maybe even join a club. The only friend so far that I had at this school, was her daughter. Mara DeWitt. Mrs.DeWitt smiled brightly at me "Harley that's a grand idea! Please, go explore the school. It should be fun for you!" She looked so happy for me, how could I refuse? "Okay Mrs.DeWitt, I'll go." "Okay then Harley." Ms.Semni said. "Don't you worry about a thing. We'll have all the paper work covered for you. Please, go explore the school. Have some fun." "Okay. I will." I replied. "I'll see you soon. Bye."

I weakly waved goodbye and turned around to go explore the school. "She's not exactly used to all of this." I heard Mrs.DeWitt whisper as her and Ms.Semni walked into the office. "I think she's uncomfortable. I wouldn't blame her. She's very out of place." I sighed, and quickly walked off in the other direction.

I already knew I was out of place, and the fact that I wasn't filthy rich, wasn't a big part of the problem. I was dark. I suppose that's the word for it. Emo. I was Emo. That would be the stereotypical word to describe me I suppose. I preferred rock music, black was my favorite color, and I wasn't very social with people I didn't already know. It was kind of hard for me to make friends. I was very awkward in social interactions. I blushed so easily, and people could always tell because I'm so pale. Oh god, it's horrible.

I was walking down the hallway, fiddling with my hands as I did so. I would need to repaint my nails. My black nail polish was starting to chip a little bit, which obviously meant I should start picking at my nails. I know, trust me, I know, bad habit. I picked at my nails when I was nervous, or bored. In this case mainly bored.

There wasn't many students walking in the halls. I had remembered that Ms.Semni had said that clubs had started. Most students would either be at their club, or "studying" in the library. I wondered where Mara was. Was she in a club? I don't know. I hadn't thought to ask at the time. I figured I'd have to ask somebody.

I looked around for someone to ask. I always got so nervous about asking people things. Like, whenever I go to a shop, I spend at least ten minutes of my time, gathering up the courage to ask somebody of they can give me a dressing room. God, I know. It's kind of pathetic. Mara was a lot more comfortable with social situations.

I saw a tall ginger girl talking to her friends about something. Her bubbly voice echoed through the halls. "I can't wait to see Honey sempai again. Today I brought him some special treats I made myself! I hope he loves, loves, loves them!" Oh god. She was so preppy. But preppy people were nice, right? I lightly tapped on her shoulder. "Um, excuse me, can I ask a small favor?" She turned around and looked a bit startled at my appearance, but she quickly covered it up with a big smile. "Oh yes of course! You must be new here! My name is Akiyama Kairi, but please call me Kairi! You must be new here. What's your name?" "Dent Harley. But, can I ask something?" "Oh yes, of course!" She spoke. She then turned to her friends. "I'll meet you later at Music Room three, okay girls? I need to help her!" The girls nodded to her, before running off towards where ever Music Room three was.

"Um, what's Music Room three?" "That's where the Host Club is silly!" She replied. "Host Club?" I questioned. "Oh that's right! Your new here! Of course you don't know what it is!" She paused for a moment, then she squealed with delight. "I had the best idea! I have to take you to see the Host Club!" She grabbed my hand, and started pulling me into the direction of what I assumed is where Music Room three was. "No really, it's not necessary!" I protested. "I was just hoping if you knew where my friend was! Mara DeWitt!" She stopped in her tracks. "Oh. My. God." She then squealed in joy. "That's such an amazing idea!!! I can't believe I've never thought to bring her before!" "Wait, what!?!" I said in surprise. "Come on! I saw DeWitt in the library earlier." She started running down the hallway, dragging me along with her. "Kairi wait! No!"
