12:30pm | Zeus Mendez Ranch
Sabrina's POV
"Dammit Rocko, where the hell are you?" I asked under my breath as I picked at the lone strawberry on my plate. The lovely brunch that Zeus had prepared for us, didn't help with the fact that I was a prisoner in this room until my love arrived with his brother. I peered over to the yellow envelope that laid across from me and retrieved it. Opening the flap, I dumped the contents onto the table. Laid out in front of me, were two passports and other forms of identification for Athena and me once we crossed the border. In just a few days, Sabrina Freeman would no longer exist.
I glanced up to check on Athena, she was sitting in front of the TV, watching cartoons, and eating mixed fruit.
I need to chill out when it comes to her. I checked myself. If I'm going to be her mother, I need to start acting like it and not like some stranger who despises kids.
"Athena come here for a second." I placed the passports down and turned from the table.
Uncertain, she stayed where she was, holding the doll tight in her arms. I couldn't blame her, she was just stripped away from her real mother and given to some stranger.
"You're not in trouble." I promised. "I just want to get to know you."
She slowly walked over but made sure she kept her distance from me.
"Are you doing, okay?"
She shakes her head and answers, "No, I miss my mommy."
"I thought we talked about this, I'm your new mommy now." I kindly repeated to her through my teeth.
She yelled, "No!" Taking an extra step back.
"You little—"
Before I could finish my sentence, the double doors of our bedroom burst open. Two of Zeus's guards with guns on their hips, barged in and quickly snatched me onto my feet almost knocking over the table.
"Wait—What is going on?" I frantically asked them.
I struggled to get out of their grasp until one of them hit me upside my head with the butt of their gun. He was going to have to do a lot more than that if he wanted to knock me out. I've been through my share of abuse to tolerate it.
"Please don't hurt me in front of her!" I begged them. Athena has already been through enough. The last thing she needs to witness is a murder.
"Where is the child?" The smaller one barked.
I turned and noticed that Athena was no longer by the us. "Athena! Athena!" I called out to her in a panic. I soon heard cries coming from the opposite side of the room near our bed.
She's hiding.
"Find the child and remove her from this room." Zeus's voice commanded from behind me. The housekeeper that was able to calm Athena down, walked past me and ran into the direction the cries were coming from. Moments later, she emerged with Athena cradled in her arms sobbing uncontrollably. I called out to Athena one more time, but she never looked back at me. The housekeeper coddled her on the way out the door, ignoring my pleas for her to be left with me.
"Shhhhh, she's going to be alright; Maria is going to take good care of her." Zeus cooed. "As for you, your situation will be different." He smirked.
"What's going on? Can you please tell your men to let me go?" I tried pulling away from them. "I haven't done anything wrong."
Zeus took a moment before he spoke, "You're right you haven't done anything wrong, but your husband fucked up and in the eyes of God you are one, so there for, both of you will be punished."
