Omniscient POV
The cool breeze seeped through the window cracks of the small room. The sun slowly started to come up while emitting a radiant undertone to the gray walls. The sound of leaves rustling in the wind echoed throughout the house. Eva laid in her bed sill fast asleep, slowly waking up as the crisp air hit her face. Her body was sluggish waking up, whereas her mind was racing with thoughts. She thought to herself " Will they like me?" "How am I going to adjust to this new environment?" "Will I ever come face to face with the mysterious person I saw before?" She was woken abruptly out of her thoughts, hearing a loud noise. It was the sound of her mother slamming the front door. Her mom had her when she was just 16, and as long as she could remember her mom worked nights and always came back before she woke up. However, today was different seeing that their lives were forever changing. Her mom decided to come later because she had to run some errands before they left for the city. They live in a small town in Virginia, so moving is a big adjustment for them. Her mom tried to make it seem like everything was okay but on the inside she was panicking. That's one of the many reasons Eva has a hard time expressing her emotions.
Eva POV
I woke up hearing my mom slam the front door. Today is the day we move and quite frankly I'm nervous. I hope everything goes well but who knows this is a whole new different ball game. I moved the blanket off my body in one swift motion knowing if i didn't I wouldn't be able to get out the bed. I slowly got one leg off the bed and then the other. I started on my feet and got to the door. After I opened my door and went out my room I saw my mom on the stairs. She was rummaging through a stack of papers. I didn't think anything of it I mean we are moving soo maybe she just had to get some stuff worked out right? Either way I don't really care. I begrudgingly walked into the bathroom switching on the light. Then I ran some hot water so I could wake myself up for the day. While the water was running I stared off into space thinking "My life is actually changing and at a fast pace at that but the question is for the better or worse." If you ask my mom if this move is good she would say yea because that's the responsible answer even tho she really wants to scream and run away from all of her problems. I know that she loves me but part of me thinks she wishes she never had me or that I'm a huge burden... she's never said anything like that to my face before tho just a thought. I took my towel and ran it under the water finally turning the faust off. I brought the towel to my face and let the steam sink deeply into my skin. As long as I could remember this always seemed to help settle and calm the nerves. I put the towel back on my sink and proceeded to continue on with my routine. I brushed my teeth, did my hair, and put some mascara and blush on. I don't like to put too much makeup on my face. However, when I was younger I always put it on for fun. I guess I changed, but everyone changes right? I finished doing my business in the bathroom and opened the door to go into the hallway. When I was walking back to my room I noticed my mom was not in the same spot anymore. This is going to be a big day so she's probably just getting ready right? I made it back into my room made my bed, and picked up some things in there. I already packed my bags because my mom wanted me to be ready to go no matter what happens...whatever that means. I stared at my pink dresser once filled with life and memories, now empty packed up in boxes ready to go. Finally, I took the outfit already hanging on my door, and got dressed.
Her outfit:
After I was done getting dressed I looked at myself in the mirror, took a picture and posted it on Instagram. Then I walked out of my room with my luggage and bags so that I could tell my mom I'm ready to leave. I walked down the stairs and found my mom already outside putting her luggage in the car as if she was gonna leave without me. She wouldn't do that right? When my mom saw me she had a look on her face that I couldn't quite make out but it wasn't good. " Hey, you ready to leave for good?" My mom said. " What do you mean "for good" well be back and plus, who would be I've never lived anywhere else but here." " I know you're a teenager and want to have fun with you're friends and not worry about moving and adult stuff I know I'm sorry... but we're moving whether you like it or not it's not safe here for us anymore." She said that in a low worrisome tone I wonder why? Oh well. I made my way to the car and gave my bags to my mom to put in the trunk. Once she finished loading the car she got in the drivers seat and turned to me. "Honey you know I love you right and that no matter what happens you'll be ok." "What do you mean, what's going to happen?" I said. My mom started the engine to the car and finally said, " Nothing bad is gonna happen I just wanted you to know I love you this is a big adjustment for you." " Yes it is but you've never said it like that are you sure everything's ok?" My mom stared out the window for a second and then finally spoke. " There's just a lot of bad people out there that do bad things and I don't want you to get hurt ok?" "It's ok mom, I mean isn't that why we're moving to be safe?" She hesitated for a little and then said " Yea... just be careful there's a lot of things you don't know and will soon come to find out, and I just want you to be ok when it happens." "When what happens mom?" "Nothing just relax and enjoy the ride we'll be at the school before you know it" she said. I slowly drifted to sleep hearing rain hit my window. It started thundering and raining after we left...We've been on the road for 7 hours. Well be at the school in a few minutes. Its beginning to feel real this move. My mom pulled in front of a wide black building. Engraved on it said " St.Paul's Institute for Adolescent Development." That's a very interesting name I wonder why my mom would make me come here. In front of the black school was a group of girls they all looked very proper except for one of them and she also looked like she was a little bit older. I'm 16 but it looks like these girls are at least 18 already. One of them caught me staring and flicked me off. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea to come to a place I have no relations with.Omniscient POV
Eva's got out the car and looked up at the old, black, rusting school. She wanted nothing more than to not go but she knew her mom wouldn't allow it. As soon as she started walking towards the entrance of the school everyone just stared at her. She couldn't tell if it was out of disgust or curiosity tho. When she reached the door the girls that were once there disappeared. So she just kept waking until she heard a loud noise and smelled smoke. She looked back and saw that someone's car blew up and was in flames in the distance she couldn't make out who it was. It wasn't her mom right? She walked in the school knowing this was a whole new world that she intended on discovering. What she didn't know was at what cost....
