Chapter Twenty Eight: Girls Day Out

I waited for Ginny at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. The journal Cedric gave me was laid out in front of me.

I began writing.

I sometimes feel like I'm going mad. I keep dreaming about a voice. I don't know who it is. I've never heard it before. I've only told George about it, I wouldn't dare tell my parents about it.

"Vera?" I heard.

I looked up to be greeted by a guy with wavy black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white collar long sleeve with a tan sweater vest and dark grey trousers.

"Yes, do I know you?" I asked.

He laughed.

"It's me, Ben," he said laughing showing his dimples.

"Ben? You look different," I said with a smile as I stood to hug him.

Benjamin Ellis was Ezra's best friend for the first few years of Hogwarts. He moved to France during Ezra's third and my second year.

"Yeah, I guess I grew a bit and learned how to dress better," he said as he sat down in front of me.

I laughed.

"Yeah, me too," I replied.

"How's Ezra doing?" he asked.

"He's great, you should come and visit us," I said.

"I was going to send a letter, but I just arrived last night," he said.

"You're finishing your last year here?" I asked.

He nodded.

"That's great, it'll be like old times," I replied.

"Yeah, gotta admit. I had a big crush on you when we were kids," he began, "But don't worry I'm over it," he said letting out a small laugh.

I smiled.

"I wonder if you'd have to get sorted again," I said changing the subject.

He shrugged.

"Once a Slytherin, always a Slytherin," he replied.

We both laughed.

"Vera," I heard.

I turned my head to see Fred, George, and Ginny.

"Hey guys, this is Ezra's best friend Ben," I began saying as I stood up, "Ben do you remember Fred and George?" I asked.

He smiled and got up from his chair.

"Yeah, amazing that you three are still close," he said.

I nodded.

"Ben, this is Ginny," I said.

"Hi Ginny, it's nice to meet you," he says as he shakes her hand.

"Hi, Ben," she said.

He looked back at me.

"It was nice catching up with you, but I've got to run, I'll drop by soon," he said, hugging me and leaving the shop.

I looked back at Fred and George giving them a stern look.

"I told you two it was girls only," I said crossing my arms.

"Just dropping Ginny off, but can't a guy see his girlfriend?" George said as he hugged me and gave me a quick peck on the lips.

"Alright Georgie, come on. We'll see you two later," Fred said dragging George out the door.
