Lottie-

“Oh my god, You all look so adorable!” Two-Bit teased. I rolled my eyes. God, have I missed him. He was away visiting people for like two weeks.

“Even Ms. Char-o lotte,” Chris pronounced my name with a heavy country accent, “looks like a lady.”

“Screw you, Chris!” I said, smacking him in the arm. He stuck out his tongue at me.

“Ohh la la la. Soda and a Soc. Steve and a Soc. Boy, oh boy, Hey, Pony when do we get to meet your Soc?”

He shrugged, smiling. Barely anyone could resist the Two-Bit.  Chris and him hi-fived. The two of the are like four year olds who drink and screw every chance they get.

“Oh. I should go just to see y’all make fools of yourself.” Oh boy. That would be quite interesting.

“You are like the king of embarrassing yourself though.” I paused, “Why aren’t you going?”

“I know I am. Kathy doesn’t really like dances.” Kathy was his long-time girlfriend.

“What about you, Christopher? Don’t cha wanna dance?” Steve joked. Chris shrugged.

“Maybe I’ll go. Ain’t like I have anything else to do. Plus, I sure do love these Southern girls. ” Chris was starting to pick up on the Oklahoma accent.

“We better get going. Don’t wanna be late.” Soda said, pacing at the bit.

“Alright. Alright. See ya. Soda and Steve give the Socs a kiss for me.” Chris smirked. Two-Bit gave us a wave.   With that Soda pretty much dragged us out the door.

“Jesus, Soda. Could you get a messier car?” The car was full of random stuff. Papers, fast food wrappers, just everything. I read of a paper, “The Hitcher strikes again:17 Dead.” I through my hands up in the air, as if to say What the hell? He shrugged, and then dragged most of the crap outside out of the car.

“There.” He smirked, ”Now get it and let’s go.”

“I think we look damn fine.” I commented. “We are pretty hot.” Steve added.

“Please, I smoke all of you.” Soda grinned.

“Keep dreaming, there buddy.” Ponyboy leaned forward and gave him a pat on the shoulder. We pulled over in front of a bigger house.

“Do I seriously look okay though?” Soda panicked, “Because I need to impress.”

“Do you want it from a girl’s point of view?” I asked. He nodded.

“You look very attractive. All of you do. Now go in and get Elizabeth and Bertha.” I was just about ready to shove the two of them out the door, when the two got out.

“Lord.” I muttered.

“Do you like them Elizabeth and Bertha?” Ponyboy asked me.

“I like Bertha.” He nodded.

“I do too. Elizabeth is kinda arrogant though.”

“I agree. No offense to Soda, or anything, but he can do a lot better.”

“Probably.” He joked. I had to smile. Then I changed the subject to something that was wondering me, “Why did we save Bertha? I don’t regret it or anything, but we didn’t know her, we shouldn’t even have cared. So, why did we save her?

“Because we all knew that it was the right thing to do. A life is a life. No matter what social class. You would feel really guilty if you left her there.”
