chapter twenty-three

(Back to Maddie's pov)

I woke up and looked at the clock. It was four. Already? Man i must've been really tired. I was starving. I went dowstairs and grabbed some left over lazonia from last night and ate some of that. I went back upstairs and it was now four twenty-one. I went to my closet and picked out a cute outfit. If Spencer was gonna forget about me, i was gonna forget about him too. I picked out some black over the waist shorts, a blue long sleeve that was lose, so i picked out a black tang top to go under it, a white beanie, and some back combat boots, that almost go over my knees, but stop right underneath my knees. I sat on my bed and tied my shoes when i got a notification from facebook on my phone. I clicked and saw that Spencer had left a comment on our picture.

I did a huge mistake, and hope that she takes me back. She means the world to me and she doesn't even know it! I wish that i could call her right now, but she's mad at me. I miss you madds and hope we can get through this, because i'm not ready to see a life or a day without calling you mine, or not even holding your hand. Misses you bae. Hope we can get through all this.

After reading this, it made me cry a little. It also made me mad. How could he just write this and make me think differently about Shawn. I was still going on a date with Shawn no matter what. I had this feeling about Shawn, that i couldn't describe. I just wanna see if we click, so i know for sure who i wanna be with.

I went to the bathroom and wiped away the tears from my face. I've been crying for two days straight. I should be out of tears by now, but i'm not. I went to my phone(that was charging) and checked to see if i had any messages. I didn't. I looked at my clock and saw the time. It was now four fourty. I went downstairs and sat and talked to my mom for a little bit. Then we both hear three knocks on the door. Both my mom and i stand up, my mom walks over towards the door and i stop her at the door,"Mom let me answer it." I said then opened the door to Shawn who was smiling. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a red plad shirt, some white converse and was holding a black leathered jacket in one hand,"Hey." I said,"Hey." He said smiling more, revealing dimples, which drove me insane,"Hello, i'm kate, and you are?" She asked,"Shawn...Shawn Mendes." Said Shawn shaking my mom's hand,"So, what are you two doing tonight?" She asked,"Um, we're going to see the best of me, then go to ponda rosa." Said Shawn still smiling,"Sounds great, you two have fun." She said blowing me a kiss and we walked outside and walked to his mom's car.

We were now driving to the theater, when his mom speaks,"So i never asked your name?" She asked,"Oh, it's Maddie." I said smiling,"Oh, Maddie and Shawn... Mawn?" She asked making me us both burst out laughing,"Mom!" Said shawn getting red of embaressement,"It's fine Shawn." I said still laughing. We finally arrive at the theater and get out,"Text me when you two are done eating." She said,"Mkay, thanks mom." Said Shawn,"Love you!" Shouted Shawn's mom,"Mom!" Said Shawn embarresed once again. She looked at him dissapointed,"I love you too." Said Shawn through grintted teeth. Shawn's mom drives away and we go into the theater.

We get into the theater and see a huge line for the movies. We were waiting in line when i heard Adrienne's voice. I looked around and saw that Garrett and Adrienne were in the middle of the line, they were holding hands. They were too cute!

"Hey Adrienne!" I said almost shouting,"Hey girl, come over here!" She said waving me in their direction. I grabbed Shawn's hand and led him towards the middle of the line where Adrienne and Garrett were. We got to the middle of the line. That was the good part about friends, they'll let you cut infront of them, because they won't care. Adrienne and i hugged as Garrett looks at Shawn confused,"Who's this?" Asked Garrett,"This is Shawn." I said hugging him, he hugged me back,"Are you two on a date?" He asked,"didn't you and Spencer talk?" I asked,"Yeah, we did, sorry." Said Garrett,"It's fine." I said then Garrett and Shawn gave  each other a bro hug,"What?"asked Adrienne really confused. Shoot! I've been so upset, i never talked to any of my friends,"What are you guys watchin?" I asked,"The best of me, you?" Asked Garrett,"We are too." Said Shawn,"We should so sit by each other." Said Garrett,"Sounds like a plan." Said Shawn then they both chuckle with each other,"We'll be back in a bit, Adrienne and i gotta talk." I said then lead Adrienne to a near by bench.

I told her everything, and how i met Shawn,"Well, he's a cutie, and Spencer is such a jerk." Said Adrienne. I took out my phone and showed her the comment that he left on facebook,"oh." She said putting her hand over where her heart is,"I know, but i also like Shawn." I said,"Well...just see how it goes with Shawn, then see about Spence later." Said Adrienne,"Thanks Adrienne, you make me feel better." I said then we hug each other. We walk back to Garrrett and Shawn who were laughing, and who were the next ones in line. We got our tickets and walked into the theater that the movie was showing in. We found the four seats left and quickly sat in them. I put my phone on silent and put it back into my pocket.

*After the movie*

The movie was soo sad! I literally cried the whole time. After the movie Garrett and Adrienne were getting picked up by their parents. Shawn and i were holding hands as we walked out of the movie theater. It was seven o'clock and it was really cold. We decided to walk to ponda rosa, since it was not that far from here. I was rubbing my arms. Shawn looks over at me and i stop,"You could?" He asked,"Um, yeah." I said rubbing my arms now that he knew i was could,"Here." Said Shawn taking off his black leathered jacket. He put it on me. It was really warm. And i absolutley loved his jacket,"Thanks." I said putting my arms through the arm holes,"Your welcome, you look really cute in it anyways." Said Shawn. We both laugh, "Awe those dimples." I said laughing,"awe, thanks." said Shawn cupping his hands around both of his cheeks.

We got to ponda rosa. We payed for ourselves and went to the buffae. We each got ourselves food and sat down at a booth. We ate and talked. Shawn is soo sweet and kind. After two hours of eating and talking, i was really tired. So we walked the rest of the way back to my house. As we walked we made small talk. Shawn was really funny and cute. We finally arrive to my house,"Well." Said Shawn,"well?" I asked as we approached the front of my house. Shawn walks closer towards me and brushes my hair that was in my face, behind my ear. We look deep into each other's eyes, and he leans in...and i pull away. Shawn looks at me sadly,"I'm sorry." Said Shawn,"no, i just." I paused. I'm not over Spencer. Even after all of this, i'm still crazy for him,"You still like your ex." Said Shawn,"I'm sorry shawn, i wanna be with you, but he drives me crazy." I said,"In a good way." I said,"It's okay, i just really like you, but as long as you're happy, i'm happy, can we be friends?" Said Shawn. I nod my head and give him my jacket, and a hug goodbye,"Bye beautiful." He said kissing me on my cheek. I wave goodbye. I would've said goodbye, but i was gonna cry if i did. Then he left into the dark night.

I walked to the back of my house and found Spencer with a pokaye of red roses. I cupped my hands around my face blushing. Spencer walks up to me,"I know you don't wanna talk to me, but i wanna tell you how sorry i am, and how much i wanna be with you, and i'll never leave your side." Spencer pauses to hand me the pokaye of roses,"Maddie Sarah Horan, you drive me insane, in a good way." Said Spencer making me laugh,"your too sweet." I said smelling the roses,"Will you take me back?" Asked Spencer,"I don't know?" I said sadly,"Maybe this will help your decison." Said Spencer getting down on one knee. He takes out a long red box. I knew he wasn't proposing to me now. He opens it, revealing a golden Necklace that said Forever. I looked at him and cried,"Are you sad, mad, or more mad?" Asked Spencer. I shook my head, "I'm happy." I said,"is that a yes?" Asked Spencer,"Yes." I said happily and he hugged me. Lifting me up and twirling me around in the air. Spencer takes the necklace out of the red box and puts on me. I turn around and hug him again. Then Spencer stops me and puts on a song on his phone. The  song was just the way you are by bruno mars. Then we danced. I was now happy!
