Albus:
I am pacing around the living room. Stopping every few minutes to look at the clock on the wall. In exactly half an hour I have to pick up Minerva so we can attend the Ministry's ball together. But Patricia is still not ready yet.
I hear the doorknob turning, 'finally' I thought to myself. Just when the door opens up my
face fell upon seeing Patricia not dressed yet,
in fact, she stood there with two carpetbags in both of her hands. I slowly walk up to her with confusion written all over my face.
"W- Why are you not dressed? And why do you have your bags?" I asked her, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I am going to America, Albus," She said before putting down her bags to the floor and reaching out to take my hands in hers.
"W-what? Why?"
"Because I can't take this anymore, Albus."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, I can't stand seeing you having loving another woman. I know you love her. Your heart is with her even if you're physically standing right in front of me. I can't share my husband with another woman." Tears are rolling down her cheeks.
"My dear, I don't-" but I was cut mid-sentence,
"Denying it doesn't mean your feelings aren't there, Albus," she told me before letting go of my hands. "I'm sure she's waiting for you right now. Go to her. Don't keep a pregnant woman waiting. I'll be fine, I promise. I'll be back when the baby is due."
Even though I don't love Patricia, I have grown to love her like a sister. I have known her ever since we were children. Our parents are close friends, and our marriage has been an arranged one. Though I know that Patricia has feelings for me, I don't have feelings for her beyond friendship. I once thought I did, but when I first saw Minerva, she gave me a whole different meaning to love.
"I shall miss you, Patricia," I said before I lean in to give her a kiss on her left cheek.
"I'm sure you'll be too busy to even think of me. You're late, now off you go." She turns me around and pushes me towards the door,
"Albus," I turn myself towards her again,
"Good luck." She smiles warmly at me which I return before I tell her,
"You too, dear, you too."
