As I walked to class, images of that dead couple plagued my mind. It was Friday now. It had been a week since I saw them killed and I was still unable to expel them from my memory. And everytime their terrified faces flickered behind my eyes, I felt sick. I'd never seen anyone die before, and especially not like that. It was horrific. And all I wanted to do was just forget what I saw, but I couldn't. The only way I'd ever feel any better about this was if I found out what actually happened. Who were that couple? Who was Ivy? And who was that evil woman? I had to find out, otherwise I'd never have any peace again.
After class, I headed straight for the Specialist training area. I hadn't spoken to Riven since we got back on Saturday, but I needed his help. He appeared to know his way around this world, whereas I still had no clue. When I approached him, he looked shocked to see me. "What the hell happened to you?"
I shot him a look of confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Well, after we got back the other day, you just took off. I was worried you were going to do something stupid."
"Well it's not your job to worry about me. It's not like I'm your girlfriend or anything." I chuckled, earning an uncomfortable glare from him. "Anyway, I need your help."
"With what?"
"I want to find out who those people were." I told him, certain that he knew what I was talking about.
After a moment of silence, he let out a heavy sigh. "Fine. Meet in the archive tonight?"
"Yeah." I nodded, before turning and heading back inside the building. I had no idea how this was going to go. But this was the only way I could think of to put an end to this nightmare. So I was desperately hoping we'd get results tonight.

"What did she look like...the woman who killed those people?" Riven questioned, lazily leaning back in his chair.
"Uh...I dunno...dark hair?"
"Is that all you've got?" He asked, unimpressed by my pathetic attempt to describe this woman. "You can't remember anything else?"
I sighed. "Well, I wasn't exactly looking at her appearance. If anything, I was more focused on the black lightning shooting out of her hands."
"Black lightning?" Riven suddenly said, sitting up.
"Yeah. That's how she killed them."
Without warning, he shot up from his chair and disappeared behind one of the bookcases. And when he finally returned, he was carrying a rather large book in his hands. He dropped it on the table in front of me and pointed to an image. "Is that her?"
"Yeah, it is."
"She's a witch. That explains the black lightning." He said. "Her name's Dahlia, and apparently she's killed a lot of people in the past."
"Does it say anything about that couple she killed?" I asked, scanning the page for any mention of that event.
He shook his head, sitting back down in his seat. "No, just that she's a raging bitch."
"So we still don't know why she killed them." I sighed. So now we knew who the murderer was, but we still had no idea who the victims were. This was never going to work.
"You don't think it's that couple in the book, do you?" Riven suddenly said. "What were they called...Cora and Malaki Caddel?"
I shook my head. "No, it can't be...can it?"
"Well if you think about it, the only solid clue we found about your past is 'Caddel'. And that led us to that book about Hathen. And now, you've seen a couple die right before your eyes. It's all connected, it has to be."
