Skiés walked down the paved pathway that stretches in front of the huge school. She hadn't lifted her head since she arrived at the gates.
No one knows, she kept thinking to herself. She'd rather it stay like that. She didn't want to be thrown aside on the first day of school, although she already wasn't making a good first impression. She was already that one quiet kid, even if she hadn't reached the building yet.
In an attempt to not give off that vibe straight away, Skiés puts her hoodie down and raises her head. She's glad she raised her head to look forward because the sight in front of her was beautiful.
The school was like a church and also a castle. It was grand and elegant, stretching high into the sky, casting shadows around it. Windows decorated the exterior of the building, and flower beds hung beneath the glass rectangles. A huge ticking clock was at the top of the highest tower. Skiés had seen pictures of schools, but none of which had looked like this.
Maybe high school at a mortal campus won't be so bad, she thought to herself, suddenly gaining a bit of confidence.
She walked a bit quicker to the doors of the school. When she got there, she pulled them open and stepped inside.
The inside was just as beautiful and grand as the outside. The floor was made of marble and sunlight poured into the lobby, illuminating it and giving the place natural beauty. Students sat on benches under the windows, scrolling through their phones. Skiés sighed. Everyone was addicted to their phones nowadays.
Ironically, she looked down at her own phone to pull up the schedule she had typed.Schedule

She looked up from her phone and around the lobby, hoping to find a sign, but she found none. She sighed for the millionth time that day and started walking towards the basement. Maybe the auditorium was down there. The auditorium was not down there. She had been looking around the building for 10 minutes, unable to find it.
"Ugh, where is it," she muttered.
"Lost?" said an unknown voice from behind her.
Skiés turned around quickly, startled by the sudden voice. There stood a beautiful person, short brown hair, green eyes, and sporting a pair of Doc Martins. "Oh, yeah, I just don't know where to find the theatre..."
"Oh, the theatre. That's on the other side of campus in one of the other buildings." OTHER BUILDINGS? "I'd be happy to show you over there. In fact, I've got theatre right now."
"Really? Thank you so much. If I hadn't found someone I would've been walking around this school for ages," she laughed a bit.
The person smiled. "My name is Royal, by the way. Pronouns are she and her today, but I might be he and him tomorrow. If you don't know my pronouns that I'm using for the day, feel free to refer to me as they and them. I don't mind."
"I'm Skiés," said Skiés, grinning.
