Go on my darling your big bang awaits.

                                                                                     Five stars 🤩

Mummy I'm home! what did you cook? Your girl is famished. I could eat a whale right now you know. Not only a whale even the world wouldn't be enough, funny girl. I cooked your favorite soup, egusi and poundo potatoe. Otoka nwam (It's very sweet my child) you will definitely lick your fingers and chew the plate. How was school?

Don't remind me mama. School was just there. If not for my friend, trust me, your daughter won't be happy to be home. It was a mess, new rules, boring mathematics teachers, assignments and more school work to be done tonight. Nigerian teachers make me want to pull out my hair. I'd gladly go bald as I salute them for destroying my highschool experience.

Where you able to call him back? Yes dear he says he'll call you tomorrow evening after school. He also said he'll send us some money and goodies for the month. How great is that? Very good Mum It's just that I miss him dearly. Having him around is worth more than sending gifts from afar. I'm sure you miss him the most.

Not to bother Oby your father is trying his best to send you and your brothers to the best private schools in order for you to get the best education. Be sure that  in time he will return to us. No need to give up on miracles.

I believe you ma'am everything will surely workout one way or another. I feel joyful to be ending highschool a victor. Once my wish is granted, so many people won't see my back. I'm not boastful but I know the Lord I serve. E shock you mummy. 😂🙈

My dear what do you want me to say? I'm glad you are learning to put God first before yourself that's the only way forward my baby.

The food was delicious thanks a lot Mum. I am taking notes of your recipes for trials during  weekends. I can't have a great cook and not become one myself. It will be horrendous if that happens. Meanwhile, I have been wanting to ask you how you deal with people who irritate you on a daily basis.

That is a very intriguing question love. The best way to deal with such people is to constantly remind yourself that you are not responsible for how they act around you. You are only responsible for how you respond to them.

It's like an action waiting for a reaction. In my case, I stay proactively ready for them. That way, it's easy to not be bothered because you know what they're going to do next. I hope I answered you well.

Wow! I'm astonished with your bravery to study your enemies. You even go as far as knowing how to react, when not to react then, finish them by responding subtly. Thanks a lot for your answer Mum. I'll go take my siesta now. So that I can read at night. I love you so much Mum and I love you too my Princess.

On the other side of town, Tayo is planning to go to camp. Let's take a good look at his experience.

As you leave next tomorrow we pray that the good Lord will see you through. May God bless and guide you, may he shield you from all the wicked devices of the enemy in Jesus name Amennn. Thanks for your prayers Mum and Dad I ask that God blesses you both and keep you safe as I go.

The next day, Oby gets ready for school but she does it grumbling to her friends. As you know, a person who knows the road never misses the destination. Her friends tell her to smile again for her target will someday, be achieved.

Meeting you both is not a mistake I know I'm being weird right now hell, cliche even, but my goal is to establish our friendship and take it to the next level.

We feel the same dear. I heard that our Maths teacher has been queried and expected to step down to SS1. Who knows the person that reported her this time.

Who else, if not Bimbo Bakare, the one who slays the most with her fine hair, well polished sandals, pure white nike socks and starched uniform. The girl has refused to come to school looking formal.

Her stuffs must be top notch. I'm just happy say we follow (I'm happy we are among)  but her own don pass garri. (She has taken it too far) Is she here to study fashion designing and styling or is she here to pass her exams and forge ahead with life.

Nelo, your description is always funny and precise. Pity the girl now, you know it's not everybody that sees things the way you do. Oby that one is story for the gods.

Our drive is to do well after which, you can slay in the university as a big girl. Secondary school can never be the same with university. That's why our ancestors called it Mahadum (know it all).

You are not far from the truth. however, it's best not to judge a book by the cover hence, you miss the fun part. What exactly is the fun part? Reading the content to find out what is really in the book. That way, you can judge without remorse. Break time is over we should head back and continue searching for a way out of the place. The best way out off cause.

Tayo's conversation

Don't worry I'll be there by evening. You know Abuja is a bit far from Lagos with bus. My parents just booked a flight for me this morning to take off by 2pm. I should be in camp by 5pm.

We have a family friend who will send his driver to pick me up and take me to camp. Tomorrow will be a hectic day. I can sense it Tejiri. You can say that again. Greet your brother for me, tell him to get ready to join me in four months.

Mum, Dad I'm ready to go. Have you finished packing your things? Yes ma'am, I packed yesterday. Though, I need to check for my food flask and face masks.

Be right back in a second. Tayo, you packed up everything excluding the two important requirements for camp, there you go boy. May I remind you that I am now a man not a boy. Thanks  for understanding I know you are already missing me Mum and Dad.

Believe in me and I will prosper more than your expectations to and fro. Once I get to Abuja I will let you know at once before moving to camp.

Everything on my to-do list has been checked properly. Imagine if I was a girl, this box will be too small for me. Tayo, you have come again with your silly jokes. All girls are not the same besides it's just three weeks and you'll be back, or do you want to stay back in Abuja? I'd like that but there's no place like home. Therefore, I will comeback two days after I'm done with Camp.

Author's Note
Tayo reached Abuja safely, called his parents while waiting for the driver at the arrivals. He soon ended the call and got a tap at the back from a well dressed elderly man.

He introduced himself as the driver sent by his uncle to take him to his destination. Immediately he got down from the vehicle, some group of soldiers told him to come through a particular gate.

He obliged without asking questions then, they asked him for his call up letter and green card he showed it to them. He was asked to go into his hostel.  He got to his room settled down before going for his registration.

At night, Tayo felt this chilly wind from his window it only made him wonder how cold the morning would be. It didn't take long for Tayo to find his way around camp. After a retreat, he would make a new friend.

That was how he survived in camp without problems from soldiers. Tayo seemed  unbothered by the beautiful girls trying to gain his attention. He knew what he came to establish for himself. Meaning, having a girlfriend wasn't part of the plan.

Three weeks has come and gone. Tayo is preparing to go back home for the holiday before bring transferred to his place of Primary Assignment.

I'm starting to like Tayo and you?
