They had done it.

Every monster in the world had been killed.  It seems very unlikely, but it's true.  Well, at least the bad monsters that hide in the shadows, but not the ones that were considered peaceful.
Garth is a werewolf with a wife and family, they are examples of good that could be found in monsters.
All the hunters were celebrating from all over the world.  Although, nobody was happier than the Winchesters.  Dean and Sam have gone to hell and back way more than they would have liked.  But now, Dean wouldn't have to keep a gun under his pillow and Sam could finally finish college and become a lawyer.
Dean was especially excited about quitting the job and not living in fear because he was about to get married to his best friend, Castiel.

Their wedding was beautiful.  Sure they paied for this event with a few stolen credit cards (and would continue to pay that way until one of them got a stable job), but it was perfect even if it was illegal.  Dean nearly cried during Castiel's vow to him, smiling more than he had ever in his entire life.  Then, they bought a house together...and all seemed well...

But only one person was not happy with this whole "world peace from monsters."  Castiel still felt afraid of the dark and did not believe that it could all be over.  He had been hiding a secret from Dean for eight months...and hoped that he could have hid it for much longer.

But eventually, Dean found out.  Here's what happened....
-------------------------------------------------------

"Sweetheart! I'm home!" Dean yelled, closing the front door behind him.  "Cas?"

"In the kitchen!" Cas yelled.

The smell of pecan pie filled the room.  Dean was excited, Castiel made him pie nearly every week and that's all he wanted after a long day at work and for the start of a new weekend.

Cas smiled at the sound of his husband's voice, but caught something red out of the corner of his eye.  He looked over and the mat under the sink had shifted, exposing part of a devil's trap Cas had drawn on the floor.  He looked behind him and saw Dean walking towards the kitchen.  He quickly moved the mat back in place just in time when Dean walked into the room.

"Hey beautiful," Dean smirked, putting his briefcase on the counter behind the ex-angel.  He pulled Cas into a quick, passionate kiss and looked inside the oven.

"How does it look?" Cas asked, cutting up some lettuce.

"Amazing, as always," Dean replied.  "Hey I was wondering if we could eat dinner quickly...watch a movie..."

Dean started, walking back towards the ex-angel.  "And maybe...you know... do some good ol' Netflix and Chill? How does that sound?"

He wrapped his arms around Castiel's waist from behind, planting a kiss or two on his neck.

Cas laughed.  "We'll see," he smiled, "we'll....see..."

They finished dinner, watched a movie (Diehard), and the day ended with a little romance.  But when Dean fell fast asleep, Cas waited until he was completely out to sneak out of bed and made sure that Dean would not follow him.

Right when Dean started his first day of work, Castiel took the opportunity to paint devil's traps, angel wards, plant hex bags, and place as many silver decorations he could around the house.  He also had a drawer in the pantry full of dead man's blood, angel blades, machetes, salt, bleach, holy water, holy oil, and a gun with a bowl next to it, filled to the rim with silver bullets.

He was ready for whatever might come, he didn't believe that every monster in the world had been killed.  So every night, he would sneak out of bed and check all the traps he had placed just to see if any demons were trying to kill Dean or himself during the night.
