I walk into Costa Coffee with Zayn, still wrapped in his coat. He looks down at me and asks what I want to drink. I settle on getting a Strawberries and Cream cooler and Zayn settles for a Chocolate cooler. We find a small table towards the back and begin to talk. I haven't seen him since I was at least 15, so we have a lot of catching up to do. It turns out that we share the same interests, art, music, things like that. I can't stop myself from staring at him, or wondering why he wants to take me of all people to coffee. I strike up the conversation again.

"Zayn, I can't believe how much you've changed since I last saw you!" I begin, before being cut off by him.

"You've changed so much, but I'll tell you how I instantly recognised you. I saw your eyes. Since that party, your eyes have been vivid in my memory because honestly, they captivated me" he counters, of course making me blush.

"Yours aren't too bad either" I wink, making him blush this time.

I look up at the clock. We've been here for 3 hours and I'd not even realised that time had passed as it seemed to go so quickly with Zayn. I gasp as I realise the time and apologise to Zayn as I explain that I have to go.

"I'll text you later" he says, smiling.

"I'll text back" I reply, giggling. "It's been great seeing you again! We'll have to arrange something soon, let's not leave it this long next time" I joke, knowing that it's been four years since we last spoke.

"Okay, see you soon" he replies as he goes the opposite way to me.

I get in my car, lock the doors again and begin to drive. I smile all the way home. As soon as I get home, I put my pyjamas on and put my hair in a ponytail. Long hair is such a chore to handle, but I couldn't live with short hair. I put on the TV and my favourite show is on. I snuggle into the blankets and my dog Dylan comes and lays on my feet. Seconds later, my phone goes off. I check it, and sure enough there's a text from Zayn there. It reads "Hey Gorgeous :)x". I smile to myself and reply "What's cooking good looking :)x"

The next text comes through "I need to see you tonight, it's urgent x"

"Of course, where and what time?x" I type, quickly pressing send.

"Meet me at midnight on the bridge over the park, like I say, it's important. Bring a bag and clothes x"

I feel flustered as I run upstairs to pack a small bag. I pack some skinny jeans, a flannel shirt, some makeup, toiletries and a dress. I don't know why I packed a dress. I pull on my Doc Martens, grab my phone, leave food for Dylan and draw the curtains. I leave the house, locking the door and getting in the car. I begin to drive to the park, with butterflies in my stomach. I don't know what's going on. All I know is that I completely trust Zayn. I see a figure on the bridge, leaning over the water below. I grab my bag and lock the car. I walk up to Zayn and say hello. He seems startled,  or surprised that I've actually come.

"Zayn, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" I ask, my voice filled with worry.

"Honestly, Lucie? No. No it's not. My parents want me out of the house and that's exactly what I've done. I have my case packed, and all my stuff with me. I only asked you because I can trust you. I need a place to stay. Please help me" he replies, his eyes filling with tears. I pull him closer to me and into a hug. I can't believe this.

"Zayn, you didn't have to ask. I'm always here for you. Come on, get your bag and we'll get back to mine." I whisper. His eyes fill with delight at my offer.

"Thankyou" he mumbles through the tears.

We get in my car, and as we drive down the road, the moon comes out from behind the clouds and shines on my face. All the stars glitter in the velvet night and the music plays quietly in the background. I soon realise that Zayn has fallen asleep. I smile lightly at how cute he looks, and carry on driving.

"We're almost home, welcome to your fresh start, your new home" I whisper to the sleeping Zayn and I swear I see him smile.
