In the beginning, he never really imagined himself as a husband. Moreover a dad. So why is he on the way to pick up her kids from their school? Mark thought that it's a bad idea but then he was the one who put the thought in his head.
He wanted to take care of her children, he wanted to always talk to Jae and break Cherry's tough shell. He wanted to be there for them.
"Do you like my mom?" Cherry asked, which surprised him. He was helping Jae with his seatbelt on the backseat of his car. "Why are you doing this?" Yuta smiled. She's really different.
"I wanted to be close to the two of you." He answered then took a paper bag from the passenger seat and handed it to the two. Jae took out a blue backpack that made him grin, thanking Yuta. "Do you want to go somewhere? Your mom allowed me to take you two."
The girl just gave him a sideways glance when he closed the door. It was Jae who said that he wanted to go to the zoo when he sat on the driver's seat. "Eomma will be sad." The older girl said. "She likes going to zoos."
"We'll go to the zoo with your mom," Yuta claimed then started the car. "She likes pandas." He said that more to himself. "How about the aquarium?" Jae nodded with a glint on his eyes and he saw how Cherry smiled timidly at how her brother reacted. She's such a tsundere.
Jae kept on running back and forth under the blue hue of the water, even pointing on some unique fishes and asking his older sister what it was. Cherry was just next to her brother, keeping him in control like a mom that made Yuta smile. He bought sandwiches for the two and the youngest just ran in front of the aquarium while eating his food.
To his surprise, Cherry sat beside him on the bench. "How much do you like my mom?" She asked quietly. Yuta was startled. She didn't ask if he likes her mom, she asked how much he liked her mom as if she's sure that he really does like her. "Don't hide it, ahjusshi. You wouldn't do this if we're not Y/N's children."
He wanted to laugh. She sounds like a grown-up. "Your mom is my first love." He confessed then smiled. He can't believe that he's saying this to a kid and her daughter at that.
"Then why did you let her meet my dad?"
"Noona!" Jae called which made the younger girl run to where he is as if she didn't say something to the older guy. What does she mean by that? Does Cherry hate her dad?
More importantly, why did Y/N and Johnny break up?
Yuta was thankful that Cherry never mentioned anything to her mom. It was his last weekend of the two-week vacation in Korea before he goes back to Spain for another soccer game. He was carrying Jae as they entered the zoo, Cherry walking ahead of the three. "Can we see the tigers first?" Jae asked, which made the older guy nod.
"Cherry, you'll get lost. Can you stay closer?" Y/N warned but she just walked briskly as if not hearing her. Yuta just smiled while shaking his head. She's truly different from her.
The whole day, they just roamed around the zoo to see different animals that made Jae cheerful. When they went to the area where there are pandas, Y/N's eyes were twinkling which made Yuta smile. She looks like a child. The same girl who made his heart throb back in Osaka. Cherry coughed lightly and she gave the older man a knowing stare. He can't hide from her anymore.
After eating some snacks, Jae had to force his sister to play in a playground. The two were just watching them as they were seated on a bench nearby for parents guarding their children. "You're going back to Spain after this?" Yuta nodded. "That quick?"
He chuckled. "Honestly, I just came here since Jae promised that we'll go hang out when I score a goal." Y/N had to gasp at that. "And because he was crying a lot since he didn't watch the game."
The girl had to roll her eyes at that. "I'm sorry, okay? We watched the replay that morning." She reasoned out that made Yuta chuckle. "Jae adores you, it's crazy. He wants to be like you. It's making me jealous."
"What?" he chuckled. "Why?"
"When he was younger, he would say that his dream is to take care of me and Cherry. Now, his dream is to be a soccer player like Yuta Nakamoto." She was smiling while she said that, staring at Jae who was sliding down.
Yuta grinned. He wanted this. He likes this. "He can be a soccer player while taking care of you and Cherry." He refused to look at her and just focused on the kids playing. "I'll help you. I can train him to be a soccer player."
Y/N smiled timidly. "Yuta." She called that made him turn to her. "I missed you, you know?" He only chuckled at that. "When I found out Taeyong invited you to his wedding, I really wanted to get angry at you for cutting all the communication." She confessed, fiddling her thumbs. She's nervous. "The last time I saw you..."
"How long was that?"
Her eyes darted to Yuta but she heard the sound of her children calling her, especially Jae's. "Seven years." She answered then stood up. "Turning eight."
