Marinette was not afraid of the dark. In fact, she welcomed it with open arms. She had never cared about looks. The only thing she found important about a person, was their voice, and their brain.

Marinette was quite literally blind to her surroundings. In a sense though, she was completely aware. She had lived in Paris her whole life. She could give someone directions if they were to ask. Usually no one notice that she was blind. She had never used a stick or a cane, rather, she would use echolocation. By the clicking of her tongue she could find her way around the whole city perfectly fine.

Walking back to her parents bakery was normal. Until she had a gut feeling. Something in this street isn't right. After clicking her tongue a few more times, she could tell.

"Excuse me!" She yelled, running past the barricade of people blocking her. She ran into the middle of the street, grabbing on to the brick in the way of the road. once hitting the curb on the other side the so called 'brick' spoke up.

"Thank you young lady. You saved my life." The old man had a spark in his heart when he saw her. Yes. This is the one.

"It was no problem sir."

Looking back at the girl the old man noticed her clicking, and the way her eyes had not met his.

"Can you see me?"

Marinette bit her tongue, "No sir."

"You are amazing. You are blind yet you had the capability to see me in the road and know something was wrong." The man reached into his bag. "Here." He grabbed Marinette's hand and placed a small hexagonal box in it.

"These are earrings. Do not open the box until you are sure you are alone. Okay?"

"Okay sir, but you really didn't have to do this."

"Trust me, I wanted to."

Later that night Marinette was ready for bed. She grabbed her bag and pulled out the box. It has engravings in it, definitely not braille. She opened the box and to her utter surprise, saw a bright light in her room. Since when do earrings light up?! As if on cue, Marinette saw something.

Marinette smacked her hands over her mouth in an attempt to keep from ugly sobbing. A floating thing. She could see something.

"Hello Marinette!"

"How can I see you? How do you know my name?"

"You can see me because I am your Kwami, my name is Tikki! And I know your name because I overheard it earlier." Tikki giggled.

"Why can I only see you?"

"Soon enough you'll understand, but for now, you have somewhere to be."

"I do?"

"You do. You are going to go and meet your partner at the Eiffel Tower."

"Partner? Well I better tell my parents where I'm going." Marinette began to search for her trapdoor.

"No! I have to remain a secret Marinette! Besides! We are already late!"

"How am I going to get to the Tower unnoticed Tikki?"

"Simple. Say 'spots on' and then I want you to keep your eyes closed."

"Spots on? Why would- HOLY SHIT" Marinette clenched her eyes closed tight as she felt a whoosh of air and then the feeling of something covering her body.

Okay, slowly I want you to open your eyes okay?

"Where are you?" Marinette clicked her tongue, "You aren't in the room."
