Look at me

Part 4

"Ai Fiat, come with us to the cafe. We are going there for lunch.", said Pot.

"I can't go right now. I have an appointment.", said Fiat.

"What appointment? Are you seeing someone.", snickered Pot.

"You stupid ass. Go away. I have work to do.", laughed Fiat as he made his way out of the classroom. The appointment he was talking about was with his therapist. He has been seeing her for a while now, almost for 4 months. Only Leo knew about it. He had told him on the phone a few days after they had last met. 

Thinking about Leo always bought about a small ache in his chest. Fiat missed him, he missed him a lot. The week before he had decided to start going to therapy, Fiat had cried and cried thinking about Leo. He was unable to get rid of the sense of betrayal while at the same time craving for his arms around him, holding him tight. 

Once the tears started slowing down, Fiat knew that he couldn't continue like this anymore. He had an overpowering sense of guilt for what he had done to P'Type but it was probably the unwillingness to look at Leo and the previous confession from when he was kidnapped and tied up that bought a sense of clarity. At that point, he knew that he was in love with Leo as much as Leo was in love with him. He had always thought that love would be enough which is what had kept him going. But the past events had made him realize that love needed a lot more if it was to manifest into a relationship. Now that Fiat was losing hope in a relationship with Leo, he had found a new determination in himself, a determination to have a good relationship with himself. And that's when he had decided to start seeing a therapist.

In the past four months, Fiat had talked a lot. He had told the therapist everything, about his parents, his affairs and his friends but he had held himself back from talking about Leo. He had just not been able to bring himself to it. But his very expensive therapist was very good at her job. She had confronted Fiat and said in not too many words that he seemed to be talking while avoiding a certain topic in particular. And to Fiat's delight, he had reacted in a way he was very proud of. Instead of lashing out and making light of the topic by diversion, he had calmly admitted to it and asked for more time to get to it. His therapist had agreed. And he was going to talk about Leo today. He wasn't sure though, if he could talk about the kidnapping. It was illegal and he could not be sure that the therapist would not report it. Either way, he would see how it would go.
