as I dragged them into the classroom I notice everyone gathered around holding a book. Slughorn points to a cupboard. The 5 of us give each other a look before rushing over to the cupboard and each one of us grabbing a book, except James. The 3 boys snicker and walk over to the gathered students.

"You can share with me," I smile lightly at James, placing a hand on his shoulder. James smiled at me before strutting over to the students. I follow closely behind looking at the table that had two cauldrons placed on top. I stand next to James then listen to the conversation the boys are having.

"Do my homework" "no" peter responses. "Please!" Sirius begs with a pout. "Nope," Remus replies simply. "Sirius, come on mate! Don't ask them," James cuts in. I smile that he's getting somewhere. "Ask y/n!" James smiles. My smile falls instantly as James holds in his laugh, biting his lip.

I growl and kick James' you-know-what making him groan in pain and clutch his pack. You might say I'm over dramatic. trust me, I know I am. I smirk as everyone looks at me in fear before they back up holding their books closer to them. The boys look at me and gulp. James, on the other hand, gives me the death stare to which I only sarcastically pout at.

I see Lily walk in and my mood changes immediately. I smile and hug her as she walks over to me. "Y/n, I'm so glad we have this class together," lily beams and hugs back. I chuckle and let her go. "I'm glad we have the same class as well!" I reply. "Hello, Evans," James flirts with a smirk as he eyes lily.

My smile falls but I didn't let my emotions get the best of me, and brought my smile back up.....all fake. Lily scoffs. "Shove off, Potter." She scowls and turns away. "Oh come on lily flower. Why don't you just go out with me," James tries again. "I would NEVER go out with you," she growls glaring at him. My smile starts to get genuine as I listen to her.

"Why not!" James asks. "Reasons," she simply replies not wanting to rat me out. I mentally thank her for that and lean my head against Remus' shoulder, who I just strode over to once james started talking to lily. "Why don't you tell me those reasons, Ev-" James gets cut off by Professor Slughorn speaking.

"Good morning 5th year students and welcome back to your favorite class ever," Slughorn beamed with a smile. I smile and hold my book close to me as he walks over to the table with the cauldrons. "Now. I prepared some concoctions this morning. Any ideas of what these might be?" Slughorn asked. Lily raised her hand up as she already knew the answer.

"Ah yes miss Evans," he jesters lily to explain. Lily smiles kindly and walks over to the cauldron. "This one here is Baris Serum. It's a truth-telling serum and—" Lily continues on the explaining giving answers to Slughorn.

I smile at her and pat her shoulder. "Would anyone like to smell the amortentia?" Slughorn asks. I raise my hand and slowly walk over to the cauldron. I start smelling and furrow my brows getting the scent in an instant.

"Uhm...wood?...chocolate chip cookies....honey....and old books," I breathed out and look away before I could get attached more. The boys, knowing who I smelt, smirk widely. James though is confused and sniffs his arm. Remus rolls his eyes and puts his arm down. I blush a bit and walk back over to lily.

"Anyone else?" Lily raises her hand and Slughorn allows her to walk to the cauldron and start smelling. "Oh," lily stutters and begins getting nervous. I furrow my brows but immediately bite the inside of my cheek once I hear her say: "books, honey, chocolate cookies and wood,"

The boys, except James of course, look at me. I clutch my books tighter, my knuckles going white, my lip ending up getting bitten, and my friendship with lily most likely almost about to end. Lily looks at me with an apologetic look but I shake my head not taking the apology. She sighs and moves away from knowing I'm not gonna wanna speak to her.
