Ch. 6 Roberto Costa #1 - Magus Turrim

"Finally I will be attending the magic academy of Magus Turrim! I waited years for this moment! I need to get stronger!"

-Those were the thoughts of a hardworking young man.

The young man's names? It is Elvis Odell. His body, though shirtless, is muscularly slim. His hair brown and his eyes purple. He was getting ready to enrol into the world's best magic academy. He trained hard and long awaited this moment."

-Elvis walked as he saw in front of him a huge building complex.

It was the headquarters of the Mage Guild, as well as the best magic academy in Acoptia. Magus Turrim.

It was located right in the middle of Irontide - one of the 3 famous free cities. It was the furthest one from the coast, built like an impregnable fortress.

As Elvis was walking through the entrance of the outer walls a lot of other first years so did too. But it did not feel cramped. That is because Magus Turrim is enormous.

Finally, he entered the academy itself and headed off to the entrance ceremony.

"So many seats! I guess I will go sit up there." - He thought as he sat next to another student.

To his surprise, the student next to him wasn't a human but a demon. His hair was long and white with black horns sticking out of his head. Well, this is one of the free cities after all. All races are welcome here.

"Hi there!" - Elvis said to the demon fellow.

"Hello." - He replied.

"Excited about attending this academy?"

"Of course I am."

"Well, nice to meet you I am Elvis Odell."

"Likewise. The name's Lucas Raymond." - The white-haired demon replied.

After the long speech by one of the professors, the first years went on to their first class.

"Yosh! My first class! I'm ready for this!" - Elvis thought in excitement.

"Settle down students!" - The professor said.

"Welcome to the magic academy of Magus Turrim! I am your Professor Doneus Ivildor. I will be teaching you the class of magic theory."

"As you already know each person is born with or without an affinity for magic. Though that affinity varies with the type of magic you have an affinity for. It also varies on how potent that affinity is."

"Now, let us begin with the explanation of the magic circles. So as you probably know, a single mage can utilize up to 10 magic circles at once. The difficulty of utilizing more circles increases with the number of circles. Meaning the more circles you can utilize the harder it is to increase that number."

"For example, a single 2nd circle spell uses the same amount of mana as two 1st circle spells. A 3rd circle spell uses the same amount of mana as four 2nd circle spells. And a 4th circle spell uses the same mana as six 3rd circle spells. And so it increases like that until the 10th circle."

"Don't think only the mana usage increases. It requires more concentration as well. But the most important part is the increase in power. The more circles utilized the bigger power the spell has."

"Each spell is ranked by the number of circles required to cast it. But not only spells are ranked by the number of circles. Mages are ranked according to how many circles they can utilize at once. There are 5 ranks: Scholar, Novice, Mage, Archmage and finally Grandmage."
