My Love -A Bughead Story

Month 2, Suspicion

Narrator's Point Of  View:

It's been a month since they all went to the lake together, since then they have done some fun stuff together, they all went bungee jumping, bowling, partying, and went to more beaches. Each time was fun, they had fun, but not for themselves. They had fun for Betty, and only for her. They knew she only had around 2 months left, maybe more, maybe less. So they had to do everything they possibly could together before her time was up. The good thing is, is that the school is shut down but no one knows why meaning they can have fun all the time. 

Betty's Point Of  View:

I wake up in my room and turn over to see Jughead, asleep beside me. Last night he stayed over and we watched all of 'The Hunger Games' movies, I fell asleep during the beginning of the 3rd one. I try to get out of bed without waking Jug but as soon as I squirm out of the covers his eyes blink open, "morning beautiful" he says. God I love his morning voice. "morning" I say with a smile, "I'm just going to go make breakfast, are you good with pancakes?" I ask. "You know I am." He says with a slight chuckle. I walk downstairs and go to the kitchen to see my mom making pancakes already, "oh hey mom" I smile, "hey sweetie, I figured you and Jughead would want some pancakes, so I decided to make some" My mom replied. "Thanks mom, I actually just came down to make some for us." I tell her. "Well now you don't have too, they will be ready in 10 minutes, do you mind setting the table for me?" My mom asks me. "Of course not, are we having orange juice?" My mom smiles and says "Yes" "Ok" I say well getting the orange juice from the fridge. I grab 3 plates and 3 cups and set them on the table, I then grab 3 forks and 3 knives and set them on the table as well, I then set it up properly and say, "I am going to go get Jug, I will be right back" "Ok sweetie, the pancakes are made too" My mom tells me as I walk up the stairs. I go back to my room and see Jughead on his phone, he quickly puts it away when he hears me come in. I wonder why. "Breakfast is ready Jug" I tell him and walk downstairs wondering why he was so quick to put his phone away. I sit down at the table and wait for Jughead who was following shortly behind me. "Morning Ms. Cooper" Jughead says well taking a seat beside me, "how many times am I going to tell you to call me Alice?" My mom laughs well bringing the plate of pancakes over. I take one pancake and pour some syrup on it, then pass the syrup to Jug. I cut my pancake up and start eating. "So how was the movies last night?" My mom asked us, "I fell asleep, not sure about Jug though" I respond to my mom, not making eye contact with Jughead. "I turned it off when she fell asleep so she didn't miss anything" Jughead said. I nodded and kept eating. 

Jughead's Point Of  View:

Betty seems... distant? Or different? It could just be her being afraid of dying, as it seems to be coming closer and closer. I'm worried she is going to push me away when it gets close, so she doesn't hurt me. Though if she did push me away, I think it would hurt me more, knowing that I couldn't be there for her as she passed. I push these thought aside and continue eating, we mostly make small talk. After we have finished up and we helped Ms. Cooper, I mean Alice clean up Betty and I went upstairs to her room, "Betts, are you ok?" I ask her, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" She asks me confused. "Well, you were really quiet during breakfast" I respond. "Oh.. that." She says and looks down. I sit on her bed as she does as well. "Betty, you can tell me anything" I reassure her, she nods and starts, "I don't know, I might be overreacting but you seem like your hiding something from me. I- I don't want to think the worst b-but I can't help it, like everytime I come in a room you turn your phone off really fast, your always whispering to Sweets and Fangs when I'm around, god your even talking to Veronica secretively. I-I'm just insecure I guess." Immediately I know what she is talking about. My heart drops and I feel like I have betrayed her trust, I shift uncomfortably and put my arm on her shoulder, I say, "Oh my god Betty, I'm so sorry I made you feel like that, I've just been really busy lately. I swear nothing is going on. Baby, I love you." I cuff her cheek with my hand, making eye contact with her. She cries and nods "I love you too Jug" She curls into my chest and starts to cry, we have a lot of moments like this, when we remember what's coming. "I love you so so much" She adds. I pick her up bridal style and say, "do you want to finish the movies from last night?" "Yes!" She replies, I put her on the bed and lay beside her, I pull the covers above us and let her rest her head in my chest as I put my arm around her. She falls asleep by the middle of the last movie, when I make sure she is asleep I turn the movie off and pull out my phone, I go to my texts and press on the name 'Veronica'

*his phone*

J: Betty is getting suspicious of us..

V: Oh no, what did you tell her?

J: I told her I have been really busy lately. 

V: Ok good. 

J: So when are we meeting again for you know what?

V: Can we meet tonight at 5? 

J: Yeah, where at?

V: My house.

J: I'll be there.

V: Ok, ttyl!

J: Yeah.

I check the time on my phone, its now 3pm, which makes sense because the movies were long. I close my eyes and fall asleep beside Betty. 

My eyes flutter open and I quickly check the time, '4:30pm' I hop out of bed and go downstairs, I get a water and see Alice sitting at the table. "Hey Ms. C-" I run over to her when I realise she is crying. "Alice, what's wrong?" I ask her. "J-just Betty.." She replies, I give her a hug and tell her "I know, times flying. It's hard on all of us, it really is. I want you to know I will be here for you, always. Whenever you need someone to talk to, I will be one phone call away." I tell her. I know she will be all alone when Betty dies, and I feel really bad. "Thanks Jughead, are you headed out?" She asks me, "In a half hour yeah, I was just going to grab pops for Betty when she wakes up." I say, "Oh don't worry about that. I can go get her something, I'll let her know that you left when she wakes up." Ms Cooper says. "Thank you, let her know I'll be back around 7 or 8" "Of course" Alice tells me. I go outside and hop on my motorcycle, I drive to Veronica's house and knock on her door. "Hey" I say, "Hey" she replies.
