When the feather sensation passed we were standing in front of a mansion surrounded by gleaming gates. "Wow," I breathed. "You guys actually live here?" I asked Della, "Me, my husband Alden, my son Fitz and my daughter Biana live here." Della replied, "You were at my house." Edaline added, "this way." Della directed us leading us to a panel on the side of the gate. She licked a small rectangle and the gates swung slowly open. I couldn't imagine how unsanitary that must be. Della walked through the gates followed by Edaline. I ran after them. We reached the front door and Della escorted us in. They led me to a room up the stairs. "This room will be yours if you like it." Della said biting her lower lip. "Are you serious? This room is awesome!" I exclaimed. My last room-despite my Dad being rich-that I had, had was a small room. The room had what looked like crystal walls and a king size pink canopy bed. There was a big window on the wall across from the doorway overlooking the lake which was sparkling in the afternoon sunshine. "Afternoon?" I thought, had I woken up in the middle of the day? "Would you like some time to get settled? We can take you to Atlantis for shopping if you would like?" Della asked me. "Umm, sure." I said, they nodded and walked out of the room closing the door behind them. I walked over to the bed and plopped down on it. The fabric was so soft. The entire room had a pale peach and pink theme. I walked to the closet and opened the doors. It was a large walk in closet all empty accept for the hangers and clothing rods. I closed the closet doors and went to the desk. It was a pale pink crystal desk with a normal chair. There were little decorations all around the room including a lamp, nightstand, a few paintings of flowers and birds and two bookshelves filled with books and notebooks. I was done looking around the room so I opened the door and walked out. I didn't remember which way to turn so I turned toward the sound of voices. As I walked down the long corridor the voices got louder until I was standing out side of large double doors. I knocked and someone said, "come in!" I opened the door thinking Della had said come in. But instead was faced with Sophie, Keefe, and all the other teenagers that were at Edaline's house. I froze in my tracks. Keefe had his arm slung over Sophie's shoulders like he was comforting her and the other teens looked like they were trying to comfort her too. "Sorry," I said backing out of the room. No one tried stopping me from going which showed me how much they liked me. I walked until I found the stairs and flew down them. When I got to the bottom Della and Edaline were there talking. "Alden just hailed me. He said the councilors are ready to see you now." Della told me, "Okay. What do they want to see me for?" I asked, "just to talk." Della said, I didn't buy it. When we reached Edaline's house we sat at a large table with all the fancy people sitting around it. "Sit, please." One of the women said. She had blond ringlets, pink lip gloss, a frilly pink dress that looked like my doom and very pretty eyes. I awkwardly sat down and knocked over my glass. I quickly picked it up. Emery studied me. "We may eat now." He finally said, I didn't eat anything. I was too nervous now. Emery put his spoon down and raised his hands. Everyone silenced and turned to him. "First of all, here." He said holding out a choker with a small Dimond shaped pendant. "I know what it looks like but what is it really?" I asked him, "a registry pendant. Elves can light leap all around the world. We need to be able to find them in emergencies. Put it on." Emery told me, I put it around my neck and clasped it together. "Now that, that is taken care of we can get to the real questions. Do you know of any abilities?" He asked me. "Uhh, no." I answered, Emery closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. No one moved. When I was about to ask what was happening the dining room doors burst open. Cloaked figures burst in. I counted three. I hadn't noticed that Mr. Forkle was sitting at the table but when they burst in he stood. Over the chaos he yelled, "There are many Moonlarks!" pain shot through my head but as fast as it came it left. It was like I had gotten glasses I didn't know I needed. I suddenly remembered past that I didn't know was missing. If the situation could get any worse it did. Sophie and her friends appeared right next the the cloaked guys. The goblins and ogre took action then. They jumped and tried to hurt the cloaked guys but ended up injured lying on their backs. Sophie and her friends had moved away by then. "Oh, you took our prisoner. You did wipe her mind clean. We will find the gateway somehow." The cloaked guy in the middle said, he threw off his hood as did the rest. Two boys and one girl. Everyone seemed to recognize them but me. "Initiate Moonlark protect!" Mr. Forkle yelled. Somehow those words clicked and I knew what to do. I dive-rolled under the table and ended up right in front of the bad guys. The one who had spoken laughed and threw a careless punch at my face. I dodged and grabbed his arm, pulling him to the ground. The second boy made a bubble of energy around him and the girl. The girl's fingernails grew long until they were seeping shadows. I smirked and brought my own shadows to me. I formed them into a spear and threw it at the shield. It pierced it and the force field disappeared. The boy looked startled but then looked behind me. I pivoted and threw a punch that hit the first speaker square in his already mangled nose. The girl launched her shadows in the form of a arrow. I twisted and dodged it then whispered a few words and the arrow changed course heading straight for her. She growled a few words and the shadow arrow disappeared. I twisted my hands and fire lit up my palms. I tossed them like curve balls encircling the other boy and girl. When I snapped my fingers the fire disappeared. I slid and unsheathed the bloody nose guy's sword. Then I flipped over and blocked one of the goblins from the other boy's attack. I shoved the boy back and he stumbled into the girl throwing off her shadows. I growled a few words and the arrow of shadow that the girl had carelessly launched dispersed. The bloody nose guy got up and shoved me. I stumbled and fell dropping the sword. He picked it up and held it to my throat. "Any last words nuisance?" He growled, "yeah." I replied, "Your breath stinks." I grabbed the sword at that moment and reversed it pushing him to the ground with a satisfying crunch. He cried out in pain and the other boy rushed to help him. I grabbed a dagger from the bloody guy's side and threw it. It nailed the boy's cloak and stuck him to the wall as he tried to get down. I got up from the bloody guy's side and started the smack talk. "So, I think I want to know who I'm fighting instead of just, 'bloody nose guy' and 'other boy' and 'shade girl.'" I blocked a punch from the shade girl and swept her off her feet. She landed on her back as the other boy finally got the dagger out of his cloak. He threw the dagger and it hit me square in the calf. I cried out but then gritted my teeth and stood on one leg. "It'll take a lot more than that to take me down," I grunted pulling the dagger out and dropping it to the ground. "You now that song 'stronger'?" I asked, "No of course you don't its a human song. Well the song says what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. That is very true." I said grinning wickedly, I dodged the other boy's next attack and decked him. Then I turned to the girl and shoved one hand out. I didn't touch her but she flew across the room and slammed into the wall. The girl crumpled to the floor as the other boy recovered from the punch. The bloody guy was still unconscious on the ground. Just then more cloaked figures showed up. They surveyed the scene and sprung into action. One of them flipped over me and landed by the bloody unconscious guy. The cloaked figure placed a hand on his back and disappeared. Another thrust his arms out tensing them. I couldn't move. It felt like he was pressing me back with his hands like his hands had grown invisible extensions. The other two figures went to different downed cloaked guys and disappeared with them too. Then the last cloaked guy nodded and disappeared. I was able to move again. The dining room was a wreak. And I noticed just then that no one from the table had helped me. Mr. Forkle was the only one moving. "Let go of us." Emery tried saying but his lips couldn't move so it came out odd. Mr. Forkle paused and then slumped in his chair. Everyone at the table unfroze. Emery looked at me uneasy. "You gonna help us pretty boy or keep staring?" The ogre asked, Keefe laughed. "Is princess Romhilda asking for help? I couldn't hear her!" Keefe exclaimed cupping his ear in a listening motion. "You are dead." Romhilda grunted sitting up. "And its Ro to you gulon boy," Ro/Romhilda grumbled. "Initiate wipe sequence." Mr. Forkle mumbled from his chair. I collapsed and the last thing I remember was Emery standing up shouting. "NO!"
