"I can't believe I forgot about my gi." Nicole grumbled as they walked up to their group.

"It's going to be fine, sunflower. I'm sure Sensei Lawrence will understand and give you an extra one." Hawk replied and snaked his arm around her waist as they stood with the group.

"Hey." Courtney smiled brightly at her best friend.

"Hi. I'm so exhausted." Nicole yawned.

Hawk looked down at her and placed another kiss on her head. She slightly smiled and melted into it. Courtney giggled and nudged her best friend.

"Any reason why you're exhausted?" Courtney smirked.

"Because I was thrown into the sand at the canyon
on top of my own sister, then I ran out on my family last night and haven't been back to my house since. So therefore, I had the most eventful night ever, meaning I'm not tired in the way you think I am." Nicole explained, slight anger rising in her chest.

Nicole loved her best friend, but sometimes when she assumed things that weren't happening instead of thinking of real scenarios, and it bothered Nicole.

"Oh shit. I'm so sorry. You can stay at my house if you need. You know my parents would be okay with it and I want you to have somewhere to stay that somewhat feels like home." Courtney offered.

Nicole gave her a small side hug. "Thanks, Court. I'll figure everything out, I promise.

"Alright. Just please, let me know if you need help because I'll be right there."

"I know." Nicole nodded at her best friend, feeling grateful.

"Yo, Miguel, calm down man. Save some for the tournament." Hawk called.

Nicole and Courtney turned towards the boy, noticing that he was throwing air-punches to warm up.

Miguel gave Hawk a look, then went back to what he was doing before.

"Hey, don't even bother. He's been super aggro ever since the breakup." Aisha tapped Hawk's shoulder.

"The breakup that he caused." Nicole muttered.

"By pushing two sisters into each other." Courtney quietly added.

"Exactly."

Aisha gave them both a look and Courtney piped down while Nicole rolled her eyes.

"I didn't lie, though." Nicole shrugged.

"Where's Sensei? The tournament's gonna start soon." Hawk asked, his grip on Nicole's waist getting tighter.

"He'll be here." Aisha replied.
