Ava was getting upset with every second, while Dei was just laughing while Ava was losing her patience. “Just let me report her already.” She said. “Let me report my daughter and leave.” She had a good strategy in mind.
“You mean that robot?” Dei noticed what she was trying to do. He was old, but smart. “You think you can trick me? You were fired out by hiring a humot, and then you adopted another one as a mother?” Dei did an odd laughing. Ava was stressed, she needed to do something real quick. The story can't repeat. That girl might be there, but her priority was Salt, always she.
“You are not going to report a humot.” Dei was determined that no one would report her. “The boss hates the humots and you must know it already.”
“He is so stupid.” Ava spoke in a real calm and smooth mood. “His irrational phobia towards humots has brought nothing but trouble. Please, after sending my lost person report, tell him he is so dumb.” She was confident of every of her words.
“I will give him your message.” Dei answered to Ava’s odd task, but not-so-good news were coming. “However, you will not report that smart machine. Well, if you call it smart because it’s seems like she’s not.” Ava was losing her sanity. His words are reaching her boundaries. “And you aren’t smart either. What did you think about losing your niece and then hiring a robot like a replacement? It’s the fate, dear Ava.”
Ava was a fragile human. Her feeling of guilt always made her unstable. But this time, facing an old rival made her brave. That old man used to joke on her, this time the revenge will taste sweeter than sweet. “Fate didn’t want me to lose my family, niece and husband in vain. I’ve lost everything, but I will not lose that girl.”
“Stop saying she’s a human already!” Dei was at his boundaries. He got up from his desk to talk face-to-face with Ava. “Once she got metal in her, she’s not a human anymore!”.
Ava was tired of it. Of his words, and the damage they do. The impact on talking about her failed marriage, her lost niece and now about her lost humot, was huge. Her hopes were going to dissapear, but he appeared.
“Boss, Is it my turn already?” A tall brown haired guy came into the place. Jugding by his clothes, he was a cop too. Ava looked at him with crying eyes. He was her last hope.
“Jun!” Ava knew his name. She started to call him. “Please tell Dei that I need to report my niece. Im begging you.” She was so desperade.
“What do you mean by “niece”?” Jun was feeling ankward. “Ava, you should stop now.” He took Ava’s arms and looked at her eyes with a odd expression. “Ava, you should forget everything about Emma right now. She got lost twenty years ago. If she wanted to come back, she might’ve knocked your door. Stop now, Ava.”
Ava was ankward now. She was so confused. “Why are you talking about Emma?” The bad memories she was avoiding to remember are back. “My issue is not Emma. My issue is Salt, my 19 years old daughter.” Both of them were feeling confused. Jun decided to speak after a small silence. “Daughter you say? Weren’t we talking about your niece?” He was surprised, because after a long time, Ava called someone “daughter”.
“I don’t like calling her like that, but it's the only way I can report her. I can't tell she's my niece because I literally adopted her. But that's not the point! Please, tell Dei that i need to report her!”. She was begging him. But no one of her plegaries were listened.
She was lost. Salt was lost, but that people couldn't help her at all. Sometimes I regret about asking my mom to let me alone in that toystore.
