The next morning was lively with tons of commotion happening all around the Potter house. While Lily was talking to Ginny about Leo and how she was excited to return to Hogwarts already Albus sat talking to James and Harry about the Quidditch match they were going to go see. Then there was Myra sitting next to James picking at her breakfast. When Hermione entered all eyes landed on her. Myra perked up when Hermione sat down as thousands of questions flooded her brain.
"Morning Mum."
"Good morning Myra"
"How was your evening?"
"It could have gone better"
"Why did you leave so early!"
"I just needed to get away for a bit. I didn't realize I had been gone that long."
"Who was that man you were talking to?"
"Just an old classmate" at the Ginny and Harry's eyes flew to Hermione telling her to tell the truth which she ignored.
"Alright. Well while you were talking to an old classmate I got to meet Lily's boyfriend."
"Who might that be?" Hermione asked looking towards Lily.
"Leo Malfoy. Aunt Hermione. I promise you he is so nice and sweet. He is so great he treats me like I am the only girl in the world." Lily stated with a wide smile on her face.
"That's great Lily."
As everyone sat down for breakfast the table fell silent the only sound being the forks and knives moving against the plates. After they finished Hermione and Ginny left to finish getting things ready for Myra's birthday celebration the next day. Although it was early it was better to celebrate now rather than later when it was only Myra, Hermione, and a few of Myra's friends. As the two mothers walked about Diagon Alley Hermione thought about what Lily had said about Leo. This brought a smile to her face knowing that her son was a great young man and that he had someone like Lily in his life. Once they finished shopping they went back to the Potter household and lounged about. Sitting on the sofa Hermione sat curled into a ball reading a book when a tapping sound came from the window. She let the owl in and took the letter before the owl flew off into the sky. Reading it she noticed t was from the last person she wanted to contact at the moment. Draco.
Dear Hermione,
Seeing you last night after all these years brought back so many memories and feelings. I would like to see you again. Please stay until Leo's birthday coming up. I know you want to see him and I know that he would love to meet his mother. All I ask is that you stay and tell him who you are. I am not asking you to stay forever just to meet your son. We have both wanted to see you for years. Especially me Hermione. I never gave up hope that you would come back to me. I have never loved someone as much as I love you, Hermione. I understand if you have moved on but I need to hear from you. All I want is some closure and an explanation as to why you left me in England alone with our child.
Always yours,
Draco
