My vision is filled with warm, hazel eyes that match my own. They smile down at me, and I know my eyes smile up at him as well. I feel his breath on my skin. I taste his lips on mine. I can hear my heart singing to the tune of a sixteen-year-old girl in love. I breathe in his scent. He surrounds me. Everything is him; he is everything. I am so, so aware of him.
Then, the tang of blood fill my mouth. My lips are no longer meeting his. He no longer envelopes me. Instead of him, I see his brother. I see Marcus.
I scream his name. Travis. Nothing. No response.
His brother is advancing on me, a single rose in his hand. A rose, my least favorite flower. A flower that could hurt me more than anything else in the world.
