The sound of faint music and people speaking enveloped the train as you and Toga continued to read a magazine. Currently, you both were reading an article about some potential laws might be in place or something, but neither of you were truly interested. For you, looking at the night sky was much more entertaining, and the thought of you and Toga heading up to the roof of the train and sitting up there, looking at the sky and talking seemed to intrigue more and more. And for Toga, she imagined the potential scenarios involved with the mission. Like every other mission the league has been on, it could always end in blood. Of course, you were both skilled with weapons and had the intelligence to combat almost anything, but there had been a few close calls.
There was this time where Twice had dragged you both to an abandoned warehouse in southern Tokyo, promising a new potential base. It was all fun and games until you three found out it was home to a bunch of explosives. That didn't end well, obviously. Kurogiri gave you three a lecture when you got back, explaining to you dunces could've gotten hurt or something. And true to tradition, this went on while Burnt Bacon Bastard and Mr. In Need of Moisturizer laughed their sorry asses off.
You were still salty.
"Hey, Y/n!" she whispered to you, catching your attention. Her golden eyes gleamed with mischievousness. You gave her a small smile, already knowing what she was going to suggest.
"Yeah, Blondie?"
"Want to head up to the roof of the train with me?" she asked, gripping onto your hand. "I know the route to Sapparo is the last one for the night, meaning once the train stops for the night, we'll feel it." Her golden eyes observed the calm civilians around. "Besides, I'm getting bored."
You grinned, tightening the grip of your intertwined hands. "Lead the way."
She giggled and did just that, leading you both to the back of the train. Despite it being a bullet train that went hundreds of miles per hour to any destination, it still held an area at the back of the train where anyone could climb onto the roof, either for repairs for any other reason. Of course, you both headed to a small restroom, where you turned to Toga.
"We'll sneak through separately to decrease suspicion, yeah?" She nodded and kissed your cheek, holding out her fist. You raised a brow, giving her a small smile. "What?"
"Rock, paper, scissors, silly!" she replied. "To see who goes first."
You balled your hand into a fist and followed her motion of moving your hand up and down, and you laid your hand flat, symbolizing paper, while her fist remained.
Toga pouted, but giggled in amusement. "Aw, shucks." She stood up on her tippy-toes and pressed a gentle kiss to your lips. "See you up there."
You gave her a small smile and exited the bathroom, walking through the cramped rows as if nothing was happening. You continued your way through the hallway until you were in the back, where a metal door with many locks greeted me.
"Excuse me, miss." an unfamiliar and uninterested voice spoke. "I'm afraid you aren't permitted to head up onto the roof of the train, for your safety, of course." You turned your head to find a middle-aged man, who was dressed in casual attire, giving you a concerned look.
You raised a brow at the man, to which he grumbled about the 'disrespect' and 'lack of intelligence you had'. "I'm sorry," you said, a threateningly sweet smile lining your lips. "I didn't realize that you thought I cared."
"But this train goes at about 200 miles per hour!"
You stared blankly into his eyes, to which he immediately became paralyzed, just as your quirk had always entailed. "I appreciate the tip," you said, taking a gigantic step towards him and running a hand through your hair. "But I think you didn't hear what I said." With that, you reached into your bag and pulled out a small roll of duct-tape.
"I'm surprised he actually shut up." Toga said, easily picking the many locks with her signature blade. "When I got here, he was still paralyzed to the ground with duct-tape around his mouth, and I expected him to be screaming."
You dramatically flipped your hair, gently opening the metal door further. "My fabulousness allows me to do great things, Blondie."
She laughed and followed you up the ladder and onto the roof, where the bright lights of the city and faint stars greeted the both of you. Both you and Toga marvelled at the night sky, as you often did whenever you were on missions together. It was a nice, silent way to bond, and just envelope yourself in your own thoughts. The train, of course, was going at a high speed, which would have made anyone else immediately fly off, but it wasn't an issue to you or Toga. Shiggy and Dabi had taught you how to survive such things, so the need for concern was out of the window.
"Hey, Y/n," Toga said suddenly, making you glance away from the sky and look at her.
"Yeah?"
She giggled before continuing, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as she usually did. Her usual beige knitter sweater smelled of cinnamon as per usual, and her black loafers were squeaky clean, despite the amount of blood she got on them daily. The only noticeable difference in her outfit were some golden earrings you had gotten her being added, the red scarf she usually wore being left at the base, and the noticeable fishnets she rocked with her blue skirt. Of course, her adorable hairstyle remained the same.
"Twice said that Dabi and Shiggy are kind of like our older brothers."
"Ew." you replied hastily, just cringing at the thought of that burnt bacon bastard and emotional emo from the early 2000s was enough to almost make you gag.
"And he also said that Kurogiri was the mom!"
You rolled your eyes, heaving a sigh before shutting her up with a kiss to the lips, to which she replied by returning your action.
You both remained like that for the rest of the train ride, enjoying the night sky and enjoying each other's company.
