"Do you ever think about our future together?"

You looked at Himiko, whose eccentric, golden eyes held curiosity. You both continued to sit on the roof of the train, peering up into the night sky and leaving yourselves to your own thoughts in a comfortable silence.

"Sometimes." you replied, gently playing with the end of your shirt. "I don't know, though. I think about the present more."

She hummed and scooted closer, tightly embracing you in her hug. "Aren't you a smart cookie?"

You laughed. "I know." You pulled your phone out of your back-pocket and checked the time. "But yeah, I have thought about it."

Toga hummed and pressed a few kisses across your cheek and neck, making you chuckle and wrap an arm around her, stroking her back with your fingers.

"Gee, Blondie, you're such a dork."

She giggled and booped your nose, glancing up at the starry night sky and smiling. "I know, but you love me for it."

You smiled and did the same. It was peaceful for a few moments, but as soon as the thoughts of the argument you both had flooded into your head, you heaved a heavy sigh. Even though you both had made up and were ready to put it behind you, the guilt continued to flow through you. It was hard to let go of things when it affected those around you, and it didn't help that the argument was something that had made you both so emotional.

"Hey..." Toga said, a concerned tone lacing her words. "What's wrong?" She always knew whenever you were upset. Whether it be your lack of communication with the other league members or full on sobbing, she always knew how you were feeling. The grief of losing your grandmother had made you both more sensitive to things. Of course, it wasn't too much, as your life as villains didn't allow it, but it was still enough to strengthen your relationship in a way.

"It's just..." you trailed off, closing your eyes and counting to three in your mind before continuing. "It's just that I feel bad for the argument we had."

"I said it was fine, Y/n." she replied, gently playing with the ends of your hair.

"But still." You averted your eyes and continued playing with the end of your shirt. "I let my grief get the best of me, and I caused you to feel so many things, and then the cycle continued until our argument broke out."

Himiko took the message and buried her face into the crook of your neck, gently running her nails up and down your back. You both remained like that for a while, basking in each other's comfort and silent words of affirmation. It wasn't awkward, a time for judgement, or anything else of the sort, but a place for silent comfort and understanding between partners.

"I'll always love you, you know that, right?" she spoke. Her tone was still as eccentric and joyful, but she phrased it in a way that seemed sympathetic. "No matter where you go, what you do, and how you act are ever going to change that."

You sighed, gently kissing her temple. "You're right, and I promise the same for me."

Suddenly, the train came to a halt, making you and Toga nearly fall off in surprise. You could hear some passengers inside talk to themselves for the reason, but it soon became obvious when two men came to join you on the roof.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" one of them questioned.

You and Toga stood up, an amused expression both of your features. "Oh, just enjoying the night sky." You wrapped an arm around Himiko's waist. "Care to join us?"

"As if we'd associate with scum like you!" the other man replied, pulling out a taser.

You slightly leaned down and whispered into Toga's ear. "What should we do with them?"

She giggled and bounced on her toes. "I say we collect their blood! My stock has been running low!"

You smiled. "Fair." With that, you casually approached the two, waiting for Himiko's move. You raised your hands above your head, giving an innocent look. "Would you look at that? They have caught me."

The men sneered and lowered their weapons. "Maybe we'll let you both off if you, y'know, fool around with us." One man pointed at Himiko, who pretended to be scared as she stood behind you.

Yeah, no.

You made eye-contact, something you had previously avoided, with the much stronger one. One he had fallen, paralyzed, you gave Toga the thumbs-up.

"Well, that was bothersome, wasn't it?" you asked, grasping Toga's hand as you both wandered through Sapparo. You both were scheduled to stay with an associate in a nearby hotel, where you would stay while putting your plan into action.

Toga hummed in agreement, speeding towards the hotel that remained a good few minutes away. It had been like this for the past hour, with her leading you both to the destination. It came as no surprise, truly, as she was aware you were tired and wanted some sleep, while she wanted the mission to begin as soon as possible in order to ease her boredom.

You soon drowned in your thoughts again, thinking about what you wanted to eat, what had happened that evening, and overall just thinking of anything to fill the time. You weren't even sure of how much time had passed as you both had been walking, making your way to the hotel and avoiding suspicion. You and Toga's stunt with those three guys on the train had resulted in unnecessary attention, but it was fun.

More fun that you had in a while.

"We're here!" Toga's eccentric voice rang through your head, and the feeling of your journey ending made you look up at the hotel before you. It was tall and somewhat luxurious.

"Well, shall we go in?" Toga asked, stretching out her hand to you.

You smiled and grabbed her hand, leading her inside.
