His eyes were a piercing gold color that glinted in the dim light. But that's not what surprised me. It was the fact that I have the exact same eye color.
*Flashback*
It was my 16th birthday. The day where I would finally feel like I'm becoming a woman. I got up from my bed, excited for the cake that I knew was waiting for me downstairs. I usually have a party with my friends on the day of my birthday, but for some reason my parents were against it this year. I could tell that they both wanted to tell me something, but all I got was more nervous glances towards me as my birthday approached.
"Good morning everyone!" I am definitely not a morning person, but today feels different.
My mom's warm smile dropped as soon as she looked at me. The cake in her hands dropped onto the floor.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" I said as I rushed by her side. My dad just stood there in shock.
"Y- your eyes, t-there's something wrong." She whispered. I quickly ran into my bathroom. My eyes were gold. Gold. I don't even think that was humanly possible. I personally thought it was awesome since I have always hated my dull brown eyes, unlike my mom who was having a panic attack blabbering about how we need to leave as soon as possible. Ever since then I have been wearing my brown color contacts to hide them.
*End of flashback*
"Do you like what you see?" Hayden said cockily. I blushed realizing that I had just been staring at him this whole time. I couldn't lie and say that I didn't like what I saw, because he is downright the most attractive man I have ever met. My knees were not trembling from fear, but from his deep, smooth voice that said one of the most cliche line ever.
"Oh um..." I barely said anything before Grace came running down the street with a look of relief in her eyes once she saw me.
"Where have you been!?" She looked between Hayden and I with fear, "C'mon lets just go before anyone gets worried." She dragged me all the way the end of the street and out of Hayden's hearing range before she yelled "What the fuck! I was so worried! I looked like an idiot talking to myself before I realized you were gone." She sighed loudly running her fingers through her hair. Why was she worrying about me so much.. we literally just met.
"I'm sorry I don't know what happened, there was just something about that guy." His gold eyes and his perfect face still etched in my brain.
"You mean Hayden Pierce? Promise me you won't go near him, all he does is cause trouble." The way she said his name with such disgust made me think about what he must have done to her for her to hate him that much.
"I promise." I said quietly, but deep down I knew that I couldn't keep that promise.
