Have I made the right decision? That thought had been wandering around in my head the entire time. Do I really want this? I couldn't help but feel as if there was something bigger behind this. Maybe I should have stayed neutral as X did, but it was too late to go back now. I wonder how he's doing, seeing as there is a war going on and all. I sighed this was just so stressful, Jellie rubbed her head against my leg as if she was trying to comfort me. I smiled a bit, "At least I can still trust you Jellie!" I picked her up and hugged her. "Hello Goodtimeswithscar" a voice came out of nowhere. Jellie got startled and jumped out of my arms to hide under the bed. "W-who-where-" "We go by many names but we are commonly known as the unaffected ones. We are not controlled by anyone. The reader, author, and narrator are all under the control of the grandmaster. As they call themself. They oversee the story. Almost like the author but they possess more power. They use machines to create a plot and give it to the author."
"And you are here because? Also who are these 'readers' " "We are here to help you." I scoffed, "Yeah right as if I need your help. I'm at war for god's sake and this isn't some dilly dally mini-game war. This is serious. We have to go against our friends for the greater good." "But do you really want that?" the voice said. "Of course I don't! But it's not like I have a choice." "Of course you have a choice. You always have a choice even when the choices might both be terrible. Choices always exist." I thought about the voice, it technically wasn't wrong. "And what am I supposed to do?" I asked cautiously. "Go to X, you two need to create a third option." "What do you mean?" but the voice vanished.
I waited for an answer but the voice was now gone. I sighed, I mean I should be able to figure it out it wasn't difficult. Go to X, create another side that goes against both author and narrator. It was that simple. But was it really. I walked over to X's base. "Scar?" "Hi X, we need to talk."
We sat down and I told him about the 'unaffected' and he in return told me about the readers that the unaffected mentioned. He sighed, "I wish none of this had happened, we could have just ended our story there. A happy end. But of course no. Things just had to go wrong!" I gave him a look of understanding. "I guess we should start recruiting others to our team?" he said although it sounded more like a question. "I think we should start with Ren. He is probably just as much against it as we are" I said. X agreed and we snuck over to the Team Narrator's base. We found ren sitting on a tree stump munching on an apple. "Psst! Ren!" I whispered. Ren looked at us and frowned, "What are you two doing here? Especially you Scar. Aren't you on team author? " I was but I and X decided we should make another team going against both sides. And right now we are recruiting new people. Wanna join?" I explained. Ren frowned again, "Why would I? I am doing the right thing." X and I were surprised, I thought Ren was always the easy-going one. This didn't seem like him at all. He picked up his apple and walked away leaving both of us stunned.
"What do we do now?" I asked X. Before he could answer we heard another voice. "Hello? Scar, Xisuma are you still there?" we looked at the spot that Ren was at before and saw Cleo? "If you are I want to join you guys." She turned around to leave but X stopped her, "Wait, Cleo, we're here in the bush!" She turned back around. She climbed into the bush and said, "Thank god I was almost scared you guys left already. Now, where do we go?" We walked back to Xisuma's base to discuss what to do next. "We should make a secret base!" Cleo exclaimed. That seemed like a good idea and we got to work. We built it under a small oak tree near X's house. It took a while to clear everything out. X did the Redstone to cover it up. Once we were satisfied with our work we sat at our new meeting table.
"Our main plan is to recruit more and more people so we can overpower the two other factions," X explained. We nodded in agreement, "And we have to figure out more about all of these beings especially who these, 'Grand masters' are. They seem to be the most powerful" I added. "So it's settled. This is our plan" Cleo said. We nodded, it could use a few improvements but it was the best we got.
