We walking into the living room, milkshakes in hand, to see Al, Danny and Eli with abashed expressions.
"Eli! When did you come here?" I asked, smiling.
"A few hours ago," he answered curtly, awkwardly rubbing his neck. I turned to look at Carter to see if he caught onto Eli's strange behaviour when my eyes caught sight of their TV, which explained their behaviour.
The massive, expensive, TV I was marvelling over before was smashed to bits.
"What happened here?" Carter yelled.
Al and Danny automatically pointed to Eli. I also raised my arm and pointed to Eli. If anything was broken that badly I knew it was Eli's doing. Honestly it's a shocker he's still allowed on the schools footy team.
"What! It wasn't my fault," he spluttered.
"My fucking TV!" To say the least Carter was outraged. He looked like he had steam coming out his ears. As soon as he lunged for Eli I stepped in.
"Woah woah woah! Why don't we try find out what happened before you go punch happy?" I put my arm over his shoulder, hoping to keep him glued to me so he didn't murder Eli.
"Why is he giving me fuck me eyes?" Eli asked looking horrified.
"Really not helping darling," I commented.
"It was an accident I don't want to get bummed." I shook my head at his antics. With how often he talked about getting bummed you would think he was gay, but he was just an idiot.
"I'm not giving you 'fuck me eyes'. I'm giving you fuck you eyes because I'm going to murder you."
"Look he said it was an accident Carter. So basically this is all a big misunderstanding. Everyone sit your arses down and start speaking. Now!" I commanded praying they had a reasonable explanation as to why the TV was broken or else I don't think Eli will live.
"We were watching a horror movie," Al started off before cutting himself off by chuckling. Though his chuckles ceased once he caught sight of Carter's glare directed at him.
"So yeah we were watch a horror movie and a mega fucking scary part came up. Eli started jumping up and down like a lunatic. Danny thought it would be a good idea to hand him a bat. El then started running in circles with the bat outwards and beat the fuck up out of the TV." He explained like it was common sense.
"In my defence the first time I hit it, it was an accident."
"True." Danny backed him up.
"But then the scary lady came back. And I accidently pummelled her face in."
"Except it wasn't her face, was it? It was the bloody TV," I reprimanded.
Carter sat there with tightened fists and narrowed eyes. "Eli I like you but right now I want to kill you in so many different ways."
I chuckled nervously trying to think of an option where I didn't end up best friendless. "What movie where you watching?" Sure it's a dumb question but with Eli it would kind of make up for his actions.
Now Al and Danny looked like they were about to burst out laughing.
"Tangled," Eli said.
"And who was the scary lady?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Mother Gothel," he mumbled.
"Eli if Carter doesn't kill you. I just might. Tangled! Fucking Tangled!"
"So your trying to tell me you got scared of the villain in a Disney movie and thought it would be acceptable to break my 86 inch TV." I sucked in a breath once I heard the size, that was not cheap. "And you thought it would be a good idea to hand him a bat," Carter stated, looking at Danny.
"It was funny at the time," he wheezed out. Soon all three boys were rolling on the floor laughing their arses off. Carte's lips twitched in temptation but he still kept his face neutral.
"I'm certainly not paying for it, neither is Case. So it looks like you two can split the bill," he said sweetly. They huffed and pouted.
"Awww." It slipped out of my lips before I could stop myself. I couldn't help it, they looked too cute. Like two little boys throwing a tantrum when they don't get their way. I went up to them and ruffled their hair as I sat down in between them. I gave Eli a good boot on the butt before sitting down.
"You can't stay mad at them. Look at their faces." I grabbed Al's face in one hand; Danny's in the other- squishing their cheeks together. They started to moved out of my grip so I whispered, "Follow my lead unless you want to get fucking eaten by Cart." I felt like I was training my kids on how to not get in trouble.
"Whatever. I guess I won't kill you lot. But you dicks are still paying. I recommend you fix it before Case comes back."
"When's he coming back?"
"He's staying at Eli's," Carter said with a big smirk on his face. Eli proceeded to fake heave in a bin after that for ten minutes.
