Anxiety and nervousness hit you like a truck, and the next couple of days passed by so quickly that you hadn't even realised it was Saturday. It turned out that Kirishima, Bakugo, Ashido, Jirou, Kaminari and Shinsou were all going to the fair too, but you and Sero were going separately (since they'd decided to go in the day and you guys were going around evening time). You just hoped that this time, nothing went wrong, but thankfully, there were quite a few heroes on patrol all day just to make sure.
Leaving the house, you grabbed your backpack filled with money, your phone, water bottle, extra snacks just in case, lip balm and other necessities before catching the bus into the city, where you'd have to walk a little extra to the field where the fair was set. According to Ashido, it was a very large fair, with tons of different stalls, activities, mini-rollercoasters, a carousel, bumper cars, a HUGE Ferris Wheel (which she'd gone on with Jirou) and more. And to spend it with Sero would be like a dream come true.
Your grandma had made sure to give you the talk of staying safe late at night, which you'd thanked her for (since you lived quite a bit from where the fair was taking place), and you manage to find your way there. Surprisingly, you were about five minutes early, and you waited by the entrance as you checked your phone.
The sun was already setting over the horizon (it was about 6:00pm), and it caused the already-colourful attractions to sparkle and shimmer in the orange glow of dusk. It was strangely beautiful, and you smiled to yourself as the sounds of excited children and adults alike filled your ears. Already, you could smell a mixture of warm hotdogs and sweet candy-floss, and the first thing you saw when you properly glanced up was one of the caterpillar rollercoasters racing around the small track. The clunking of the rides were strangely soothing despite you being incredibly excited, and your heart hammered against your chest as you waited for your date.
"Hey! Y/n! You're early!" you heard a voice say from behind, and you turned to see none other than Sero strolling quickly over, a wide smile on his face as he waved. He wore an oversized white v-neck with a grey jacket and black jeans, and a backpack slumped over his left shoulder. A black beanie sat over his hair, keeping it out of his eyes in case it became windy. His grin never faded as you waved back. Then, he became relatively shy, and he quickly averted eye-contact as he rubbed the back of his neck. "And... you look really pretty."
"Thank you!" you replied, beaming and looking him up and down. "So do you! Well, I mean, you look good too..."
"Heh, thanks," he grinned, looking up at the fair and trying to calm his racing heart. "Have you eaten?"
"Yeah, I ate something light before I left, but we can get some food first if you haven't," you answered, watching as Sero clambered over the small barrier that surrounded the field (the proper gate was too far away and neither of you could be bothered to walk over, plus it wasn't illegal so why not) and held out his hand for you to take so you didn't trip.
"I haven't really eaten since... 2pm, but we can always grab something later," he answered, not letting go of your hand but loosening his grip very slightly as your arms dropped to your sides. His fingers gently linked with yours, and although neither of you acknowledged the fact you were holding hands, you were both VERY aware of it. "Hey! This is much larger than I expected."
"Yeah, apparently, once we buy tickets from the stall over there, we can go on whatever rides we want," you said, dragging him over as you checked the prices. Shockingly, the prices weren't super high; for the rollercoasters, it was about two tickets each, and that ended up only costing about ¥400 for both of you. You'd managed to get quite a bit of money the past few days, specifically because your last stream had the sole intention of you using your donation money as cash to fund this little date. But your fans didn't need to know that (some of them had probably figured it out already to be honest).
