***August 6, 1978***
The second your foot touched the green grass of the Malibu beach house's front yard, you could tell something was off. The beach waves were calm. An eerie silence in the air. No birds singing.
As if no life occupied the house.
Walking up to Harry's home, you noticed the curtains covering the windows. You and Harry always kept the windows open to enjoy the scenery, and to let the sun in. But this time, all the windows in the home were covered by curtains. Shutting you out.
Something was wrong.
Stepping closer to a large window, you attempted to peek through a small space between the curtains. You couldn't exactly make out the view because of the angle, but you could see the piano in the living room.
And Harry's curls resting on the piano.
You weren't sure if he was asleep or what state he was in, but it worried you. The silence. The covered windows.
Your hand trembled with the spare key as you inserted it into the doorknob, and forcefully pushed open the door.
"Harry," you whispered, rushing over to the man before your eyes understood what was actually going on. "Harry!" you shouted, your heart sinking as your eyes stung with tears. You covered your mouth in shock, your hands shaking.
He was passed out on the piano. Covered in his own vomit. His hands holding onto a crystal glass of alcohol. Near it was its partner of other antidotes in a little plastic bag. It had finally gotten to him.
