The dark palace's corridors and walkways are eerily silent at night, exempt to the servants and messengers whose footsteps make sounds that linger, softly echoing off the polished walls.
A group of beings in servant attire soundlessly rushed through the hallways, remaining unseen as they pass guards. They make their way out of the business end and into the private chambers.
In another room someone tossed and turned in their sleep. The large bed they lay on cushioning every movement, silk sheets keeping them warm. The tossing increases and suddenly they are awake, in a cold sweat with a frightened face and a fast heartbeat.
Slowly, they move to the side of the bed, get up and walk into the ensuite. Guided by the dim light they reach beside the mirror in the wall to the light switch. The lights turn on all too brightly, briefly blinding the person.
His eyes adjust and he can see his brown messy hair, even messier from his restless sleep. Taking a glass from the vanity and filling it with cold water. Chugging half the glass down Alaecriz turns off the light and walks back to bed. Placing the glass of water on the bedside table he shuffles back under the covers to rest.
He soon falls back into a restless sleep and does not hear when his chamber doors creak open. In creeps a man dressed in messenger's attire.
He glides over to the side of the bed where he watches the king toss and turn with sweat coating his skin. The man raised a small bronze compass and placed it on the king's chest.
The face of the compass glowed with a reddish hue as the man murmured something in the language of his people.
The glow got brighter and brighter until it was blindingly bright then started to fade away, and with it the king and the mysterious man.

The red sun of hell rises above the capital city, waking the demons and ghouls, all that can be heard on that morning is the sound of the warning bells clanging from the highest towers of the palace.
The air is thick with fear as the people wonder what happened. Crowds begin to gather around the doors of the palace, awaiting the all clear from their king.

"I bet it was the French. Friggin French." General Atohno growled as she paced the throne room, Pou sat on the staircase leading to the empty throne. Servants, guards and Naveita's personal guard stood around the room, watching the furious General with caution.
"Vita, I highly doubt that the French are behind this, they do not have the brains, manpower or ability to do something like this. It must have been Heaven's Warriors." Pouella spoke up, her voice soothing.
"Even so. I don't understand just how this could've happened! Alae's chambers are the most guarded rooms in all of hell, they would've had to go through my chambers and passed five guard stations." Naveita ground out the words.
"Maybe they were assisted or worked in the palace?" Naveita thought about Pouella's words carefully before turning to one of her personal guards.
"Do a roll call of all the guards and servants, anyone and everyone who works in this palace. I want background checks run, I want to know where they were last night at every hour, I want lists of names of every guard on duty last night, I want the police reports on what they found in the king's chambers and I want their theories and I want all the tapes of all the security cameras in the palace from 4pm to the time that the king was reported missing. Get it all to me ASAP."
The guard nodded and he and two other guards swiftly left the room to carry out their general's orders.
"Naveita. Calm yourself, or you will end up electrocuting all of us. Again." Pouella had seen the blue sparks begin to flicker on the girl's body.
