The truth

I suddenly freeze.His eyes were staring into mine and mine into his.Silent tears started to trickle down my cheek.Suddenly Kat paced towards the door in her lilac cotton robe and stood beside Nathen.I finally broke the eye contact between us and placed my aprehensive gaze onto her.

"What is he doing here?"

I asked firmly as all the colour drains from my face.Kat dosen't reply.She just gives me an apologetic frown and waved her hand signaling me to come inside.

I ignore her command and stood firmly on the ground.Nathen looked suprised and also very aprehensive.

I hastily got my purse and quickly fished out my phone.Nathen looked confused and Kat was just staring at me.I glance up at him.His blonde her dangling down his forehead and his dark eyes are fixed onto mine.I immediately look back into my purse.

Finally Nathen speaks and suddenly the silence is broken.

"What are you doing?"

Nathen asked,clearly panick is in his hoarse voice.I looked up from the screen and my eyes again meet his.For the first time in forever I felt stronger than him.It was a strange feeling but it was delicious.

"Calling the cops."

I reply calmly as if it were nothing.I wanted to let out a wide grin but I had to self-contain it.But I couldn't help but crack a smile.Nathen's face instantly turned sour.

Kat's jaws dropped and Nathen was suddenly filled with fear.

"I'm sorry."

Nathen quietly whispered into my ear,I was bearly able to hear him.His familiar lips met my cheek and he hastily wiped my tear tenderly with his thumb then he slowly walked out of the clear porch.

I quickly used the back of my hand to quickly wipe the kiss from my blood-drained cheek.

I reluctantly walked into the house,brushing my arm against hers.She still stood there,staring out the door.Her face looked puzzled and all of a sudden she turned around and swiftly walked up the long stairs.I looked at her in confusion but our eyes didn't meet as hers looked straight ahead.

I ran up the stairs and paced towards my bedroom.My breathing had risen rappidly and I was suddenly gripped with fear.

I suddenly locked the door behind me and I tiredly fell onto the soft covers of the double bed.

"How could she let him come in here!"I question under my breath.She and I shared a mighty hatred for Nathen and the minute I leave she welcomes him with open arms!

But then a discomforting thought welcomed itself into my head.Why wasn't he in jail?

My thoughts were suddenly distracted by a loud bang.I knew it was the door but what I wondered was what was she up to this time?

My mind suddenly hit me with a horrific thought.She could easily get arrested for harbouring a criminal.

I shook my head in disbelief.Maybe she had a reasonable explanation for letting my abusive boyfriend stay in this house.I quickly doubted that idea and decided to call Zoe.

Kat's POV

I quickly hopped into my car and began to fetch for my car keys. When I eventually found them I started the car and quickly drove off.

"Why did I sleep with him!"

I questioned myself as I drove along the silent streets.I then realised that I was still wearing my lilac robe.

I glanced down at my feet as I noticed a pair of bunny slippers staring back at me.

I silently cursed at myself for not realising that I was still in my nightwear.

I suddenly slammed the break with my foot and then turned my head in all directions as I was trying to find Rachel's house.

Rachel and I weren't exactly close.I quickly entered the silent street in search of Nathen.Where could he be?

This was abnormal.Why was I showing affection for this person?What had happened to me?

I took in two deep breaths and then to my suprise I see Nathen sprinting towards a house similar to the others.

I hastily parked my car in a small corner and then hopped out of the car.I quickly paced towards the house that Nathen had entered.

All of a sudden I hear two familiar voices.

"Trust me.The plan is working,All we need to do is get the letter!"

A voice blurts out.I knew immediately it was Nathen.

But what were they talking about?And who was he talking to?

What letter did they want to get?I just had to keep listening.

"Good,I am so happy I bailed you out!"The other voice replied and then I realised it was Rachel.

"What about Kat,is she suspicious?"

Rachel immediately asked him.I hear distant chuckling and then Nathen clearing his throat.

"After last week....no she is not suspicious about anything."

Nathen replies and continues to laugh.

Rachel and Nathen began chuckling hysterically.All of a sudden I felt different.Sleeping with me was just part of his plan?

My heart knotted and twisted.I wanted to just burst into tears.I couldn't believe that I was reacting like this.I wanted to hate him,I wanted to be angry at him but I just couldn't.I couldn't stop the unwanted tears falling down my face.

But all of a sudden a sudden sharp pain formed.I couldn't help but shriek as the pain increased immediately in my abdonem.

"What was that!"

Rachel asked in curiosity.Her voice was frosty and cold and all of a sudden the laughter halted.

I felt scared.I didn't know what to do?

Another shriek escaped my lips.I quickly used my palm to shut my mouth but the yell had already escaped.

I could hear distant footsteps pacing towards me.I was now lying against the stony surface.I tried to find my feet but I remained there.I froze.

I shut my eyes and began processing the current situation.

My thoughts were suddenly distracted by a loud bang.

"Kat what are you doing here?"

My eyes shot open and to my surprise Nathan was standing right in front of me.His expression was panicky but equally confused.

I wanted to get up and run off but my body was stiff and disobeyed my command.

I just lay there.My eyes were fixed on his dark eyes and his on mine.I opened my mouth but decided to close it again.

Nathen suddenley held out his hand for me but I didn't take it.I didn't want to touch him and I most certainly didn't want him touching me ever again.

All of a sudden my body felt numb.My eyelids felt heavy and I  opened my mouth but then closed it again.

Before I knew it I was in Nathen's arms.

Unconscious.

SORRY GUY'S FOR THE DELAY.I WAS REALLY BUSY LAST WEEK.I HOPE YOU GUY'S LIKE THE STORY SO FAR.
Can't believe the story is coming to an end.
