Maddy's Talent

The letter

It was Boxing day today and sadly it was a work day usually people always complain about work but I was lucky that it was work that I actually liked.

I took a quick shower and scrubbed my hair and scalp.I quickly straightened my long blonde hair and left it down.I wore a yellow blazer and a pair of black skinny jeans and some black heels and set of for work.

I was finally home from aproximately 4hrs of work.All I really did today was some vocal works and songwritting and this was considered a "boring' day.I walked over to the kitchen my heels tapping on the floorboard and made myself some hot chocolate and smothered it with some whipped cream.

I stumbled towards the sofa and layed my legs on top of the coffee table.

Finishing my drink,I stood up and before I was about to walk up the stairs my phone rang.

Beep beep.

I grabbed it out of my bag and glanced at the screen.

Rachel

Was the name that popped up on my screen.I frowned when Rachel was the name on my phone.

"What does she want?"I whispered to myself and opened the text message.

It read;
Maddy come to my house.It is urgent and I am sure you will be suprised.
Please come ASAP,
~Rachel.

Seeing the message made me suprised but mostly scared.What could have been so urgent and important that she texted me?I quickly changed and wore a pink sleeveless top and a pair of blue denim jeans.

Knock knock.
I finally made it to Rachel's house thankfully Kat let me use her car after the last time I didn't think she would trust me.

The door opened slightly and a familiar face peered through and then it opened widely.

"Hello,sister."
Rachel welcoming warmly before letting me inside her house.

"I am not your sister,at least not anymore!"
I replied harshly and stared straight into her dark eyes.She knew I had changed,when I became homeless and had to fend for myself.She just nodded her head and then closed the door after I had walked in.

"So what did you urgently need me for?"
I asked still in my harsh tone.

She sat on the white cotton sofa and left a space beside her,gently tapping it intending for me to sit on it,instead I sat on the dark wooden stool opposite to her.

"Maddy,why are you doing this what have I done so wrong to make you to be acting like this!"
Rachel shouted with a confused look.

I laughed and then smirked,to think that she might have actually forgotten.

"Hah!Have you forgotten that you told mom that I dropped out of school!"
I yelled standing up from the chair.

"I was doing it to protect you!"
She whispered innocently.I laughed again.

"Yes okay I understand so...you snitched on me,ruined the love between mum and I therefore I was sent to a private boarding school for a year and do you remember what you did to me,you laughed and mocked me at the airport and you also went out with Nathen while I was at the hospital getting surgery!"

I yelled tears running down my cheek and before I knew it I was crying.I sat down,my head was buried in my hands.I glanced up and I could see Rachel she was just sitting there reading a letter.

"It feels like a mask you know,this isn't me not physicaly or mentally."
I whispered.I wasn't crying anymore but tears still ran down my cheek.

"Look I'm so sorry."
She whispered.I knew was just saying it out of pitty.

"You are not sorry and never will be!"
I yelled staring at her.

After Rachel had finished reading the letter for the fourth time she glanced at my wet face and then looked at the letter.She gently placed the letter in it's origanal envelope and handed it to me.

"This was the reason why I wanted to see you."She finally replied.

I snatched it off of her and opened the envelope.Inside it there was a long piece of worn out paper.

I glanced at Rachel but she was just staring at my hands opening the letter it read;

To my wonderful daughters,Maddy and Rachel.I wish you guys could understand,understand everything.I can't tell you why I supposedly 'died' on that day.Please dont think any wrong of me I am doing this to protect you.Do not show this to your mother.
Love Dadxxx.

I glanced at Rachel again but this time she was staring into my brown eye.

I couldn't believe Dad was alive!For once I could finally have a bit of happiness.

Sorry for the short chapter I am really tired I did this on boxing day but I had a party so I couldn't upload it then.Just to say the picture on the left/top is Ellie Goulding she is one of my favourite singer and I thought she would be perfect for Maddy.
