no surprise to everyone in the compound bucky had no clue it was his birthday, a few weeks ago steve had told you about it and yuk wanted to go all out, it being his FIRST official birthday after his winter soldier time.
as the saying goes go big or go home, tony funded of course (gotta spend his money somehow🙄)
AND HE WENT ALL OUT everything was perfect from the decor to the food.

snowflakes all over cause according to tony that's the only memory of the wEiNeR sOliDeR we're getting.
posters of some movies and books from back then. basically the entire party was "antique" with the iconic plums in every way, shape and form you could get it.

steve has taken buck out shopping so he'd be surprised when he got back. currently everyone was hiding as steve said he was 5 mins away.

soon enough the door opened and you were the first to jump out. and to say bucky was shocked would be an understatement, everyone took that as a win since, well can't really sneak up in a trained assassin can you?
while everyone mixed around coming up to wish bucky happy birthdays cake behind you snaking his arms around your waist, head moving between the crook of your neck and your shoulder. he eventually pulled you back making you squeal and whispered in your ear, while he held his classic smirk... "this was a fun party princess, gave me quite a scare, i think it's time you got something in return wouldn't you say"
you couldn't move just nodded, and that's what you did for the rest of the birthday.
