It has been months and months since Gilbert left Avonlea. Left her with no real good bye just a letter her heart hurt like it has been cut by a thousand cuts. He writes to her she hasn't red them just that first letter that one little letter broke the girl's heart.

but after the death of my father I couldn't stay in Avonlea.
I took a job on a steamboat and I will travel the world. I don't know if I'll ever come back.

She must have read it about a million times now each time she cried and her heart breaks even more then it already has.. She knew she was being selfish and  ridiculous and that he didn't leave to hurt her she was sure of it but her thoughts told her otherwise.

She laid in bed most of the time but sometimes she sits on her window seat and just looked at his house and remembering the times they shared and cried..

Winifred was laying in bed that seems what she has been doing all summer and Lizzy and will has been really worried about her...

Lizzy bust threw her sister's door and saw her looking at nothing she walked over to her window and opened the curtains and opened the window to let some fresh air in lord knows it smells some thing god awful in here she walked next to her sister's bed..

Get up!! Lizzy told her the girl just looked at her older sister her hair was all mattered and she looked like death

No!! the heart broken girl said .. Just leave me alone , Lizzy sighed and sat on her bed

Little snow I know it hurts and I know you miss him but you can't be held up in your room for weeks it's unhealthy .. I'm so sorry I know sweetheart

Lizzy stood up,, Get up now you're going with Anne and Diana to charlottetown with Mrs.and Mr.Berry,Lizzy slap her bum and left the room

Later that week -

Winifred was all packed and ready to go she said her goodbyes to Elizabeth and William and was sitting in the carriage with Anne and Diana and her little sister Minnie May.

That's a pretty ring, She looked at the child and then at the ring that was on her ring finger she smiled sadly she wanted to cry but she didn't
