The weeks went by Winifred hardly saw Gilbert he was either coming or going he was really working hard and studying. and always in a hurry the boy would wolfed down his food like a animal.but she admire him for doing it and by himself too
Winifred was waiting for Gilbert on the porch swing it was getting cold and he was late so she walked over to his house and it was snowing She made it to the front door and just opened it..

After sitting by the heat Winifred was all toasty warm.. she sat on the floor with Anne and Diana. The raven haired boy would occasionally cast her a wary glance but would quickly go back to his study's.
"Alright, class, let's begin." Miss. Stacy's she glanced up at the teacher. "Gilbert? Gilbert got off the chair and sat on the floor.
"Science changes the world for the better. Does anyone know what electricity is?" Miss. Stacy begun the lesson. The class stood around the teacher's desk and watched as she set up an experiment.
"Light." Anne answered.
"Yes. And?"
"A form of energy." Gilbert added to the answer.
"".
"Electricity is indeed a form of energy." Miss. Stacy nodded her head with praise. "If you've ever watched a thunderstorm, with mighty lightning bolts darting down from the sky, that's electricity. Powerful stuff.
"A bolt of lightning is a sudden, massive surge of electricity between the sky and the ground beneath. Electrical currents live inside atoms. And atoms are small particles that make up all matter. They're so small that it takes billions and billions of them just to make something useful like a nail.
"All objects that take up space and have mass are called matter. And everything around you is made up of matter. Chocolate cake is made up of matter. These walls, the school is made up of matter. You are made up of matter. Now today, without a standard power source, like they have in the big cities, we are going to make our own electric current in order to illuminate a light bulb."
"Whoa!" The class erupted into amazement.
"How many of you have ever seen one?" Miss. Stacy asked, glancing around the class. She had shoved nails into multiple potatoes.
"In New York, actually." Gilbert stated, putting his hand up.
"In Charlottetown." Anne also put her hand up, twisting around to stare at Gilbert.
"Uh, my aunt Josephine has electricity." Diana said, her hand also in the air.
"Well, with a light bulb, scientists have found a way to send electric currents, atoms carrying energy, into a container full of gas, a different type of atom, and when those two types of atoms meet, they exchange their energy and make..." Miss. Stacy wrapped a copper wire around each nail, connecting all the potatoes.
"Light." Anne and Gilbert said at the same time.
"So, here in Avonlea, with a little ingenuity and some Prince Edward Island potatoes, we have... electricity." Miss. Stacy screwed the light bulb into a potato and the class gasped in delight as they watched it light up, they erupted into applause.
"Ahem-hem-hem." The class turned around to find the mother's standing at the doorway of the classroom.
"Why, hello!" Miss. Stacy greeted the women. "Ahem. Good timing. We were just brightening our day. Won't you join us?"
"Miss. Stacy is wonderful." The class burst into little whispers as Miss. Stacy walked over to the women.
The little brunette girl was fascinated by the light she lifted her hand towards the light it was so pretty she picked it at the same time that.
"Does it taste like" Moody asked, picking up one of the potatoes.
"Moody, no!"
"Don't."
As his tongue touched the wire he jumped back in pain, dropping the whole experiment to the floor. The bulb fell out of her hand and glass from the light bulb smashed into millions of pieces.
The light bulb had burn her hand a little and she felt this shock in her body her head started reeling and then the brunette girl fainted.
