Winifred and Anne walked threw the woods on they way home Gilbert has been ignoring her ever since the wedding like she has some kind of disease and it really hurts she doesn't know what she did wrong and it's really annoying her.

The girl sat down at the table at Gilbert's house she almost fell asleep a few times it was quite late.

Mary walked out and saw the poor girl just sitting there, Sweetheart why don't you go lay in his room she told her. She get up and walked in his room and laid on his bed and fell  asleep.

Gilbert walked in about two hours later it was now 11:00 he took off his boots and jacket and ate quickly and walked into his room and saw Winifred in his bed asleep. He smiled and sat down on the bed and moved curls away from her face

Mmm!! she snuggle up to his hand, He felt bad about ignoring her the last few weeks but it's for the best until he can provide for her properly and the way she deserves and that seems not for awhile now.

Gilbert?! the girl looked up at him smiling kissing his hand softly sitting up a bit

Winnie I - the girl cut him off by kissing him pulling away and touching his face

Gilbert I want to be with you I love you, The girl told him truthfully she didn't need any more time she wanted him forever. He just looked at her and just kissed her he didn't know what came over him, The 18 year old boy knew that he should stop but he didn't want to he lightly pushed her down and rolled on top of her.

Gilbert unbutton the top button of her dress  He stopped, and shoved himself off of her..

Wha - What is it?  - she asked her face was flush and her lips swollen and her hair a curly mess, The boy was pacing back and forth, hands sliding through his raven hair..

You should go it's late, he glanced at the girl she get off the bed and trying to take his hands but he backed away from her a little

Why are you acting like this? She asked upset, He looked at her for a few minutes and said

You should go home Winnie he said

What?! She asked in disbelief

I said go home

No!! I told you I love you and I want to be with you

We can't!!

Why not?! I want a future with you I want to be your wife!! she yelled with tears in her pretty eyes she walked forward to him and kissed him He did want that more than anything, but he pulled back hands on her arms

You don't understand I can't give you a future that you deserve you don't want to be a wife of a poor farmer that can't even afford to go to college!! He tried to make her understand

I don't need you to take care of me i can pay for your college she said touching his face .. please

No!! I don't want you to don't you understand, he shook her a little

But I love you!! and I know you love me to, She was crying

Well you're wrong I don't want you , he lied it hurt him to say it but she needed to understand...

"You promised! , you promised that you would wait for me –" She accused him with tears streaming down her face.

That was before .. it hurt him to hurt her and this is going to crush her ... Before I fell in love with someone else He said

You... , her heart was broken she just cried, I'm sorry I'm really am he said but I need my ring back?

She looked at him and glared still crying, Here take it!! she slid it off her finger and threw it at him. He just stood there with no emotion what so ever she slapped him and said

I hate you... I really do!! she ran out crying and the boy sat down with his head in hands and cried..

He wanted to go after her to tell her that it was all just a horrible lie and that he did love her ... he love her more than anything but he didn't..
