A New Friend

While Gaia, Wanda, and Clint wait for Steve, Sam, and Bucky, Scott was in the back of the van sleeping. They all were sitting in the front, and Gaia was in the center. She looks down, playing with purple wisps around her hands. Clint takes notice and asks her, "You still in distress?"

Gaia whooshes the wisps away and says, "No. I actually feel... happy. I don't see myself as a monster anymore. All because of some people in my life that helped me realize that. You're one of them, so thank you for that. I mean, in Sokovia and the compound, you made me understand that it doesn't matter what I did, it matters how I fix it."

Clint laughs and so does she as Clint says, "Come here, little red."

Gaia smiles and hugs him. When they pull away Clint says, "You know, Cooper and Lila are always begging to see you or even call you. It's like they love you more than me and Laura. They never want to leave you or let you leave them."

Gaia chuckles and says, "I remember that one time, when I was leaving, they both held on to my legs making it impossible to move."

Clint starts to laugh with her and says, "Yea, and then me and Laura had to pry them off, while they were yelling."

Gaia adds on and says, "I also remember when you were holding Nathan and he wouldn't stop crying and as soon as I held him, he was quiet as a mouse."

Clint laughs again and says, "Yea, I remember that too. How do you do it?"

Gaia shrugs and says, "Kindness and patience? Even though, I don't meet new people that often, when I do, all I have to do be patient and understanding. With people, it's easy to make them calm and relaxed. I don't know, maybe being nice and smart has it's perks. Maybe you should try it out, people probably might like you more."

Clint's jaw drops open dramatically and he says, "How rude! People like me!"

Gaia gives him a fake look and asks, "Do they? Do they really?"

Before Clint could respond, they see a blue beatle car pull up and watch as Steve, Sam, and Bucky get out the car. As Clint goes to greet Steve, Gaia runs over to Sam and tackles him in a hug. Sam laughs and hugs her back while saying, "It's alright. Everything's okay. I'm here, I'm here." referring to what happened with Bucky and the police chase.

Gaia lets go and hears Clint say, "Besides, I owe debt."

He looks at Wanda and Gaia, who just smiles at him and then looks to Steve. Steve looks at them and says, "Thanks for having my back."

Wanda and Gaia nod as Wanda says, "Anytime, It was time to get off our ass.

She looks at Clint and smiles, him returning the gesture. Steve grins and says to Gaia, "Come here."

Gaia laughs and hugs him. Steve kisses her forehead before letting go. He looks at her in proudness and admiration. Gaia has gone through tough times but yet here she is, having a huge smile on her face. Steve feels like crying but pushes down the feeling and says, "How about our other recruit?"

Clint walks over to the van while saying, "He's raring to go. Had to put a little coffee in him, but he should be good."

He opens the door of the van as it slams and Scott wakes up. Scott climbs out of the van and asks, "What time zone is this?"

Clint gestures for him to come out and and when Scott does, Clint leads him to Steve. Scott quietly gasps and says, "Captain America."

They start shaking hands as Steve says, "Mr. Lang."

They were still shaking hands as Scott says, "It's an honor."

Scott notices that they were still shaking hands and says, "I'm shaking your hand too long. Wow, this is awesome!"

He stops shaking his hand and looks back to Clint and says, "Captain America."

Scott then turns to Gaia and Wanda and says, "I know you too, you're great. You too, you're awesome."

Scott turns back to Steve and grabs his muscles and says, "Jeez."

He lets go of Steve and says, "Oh look, I want to say, I know you have a lot of super people, so thanks for thinking of me."

Scott looks over to Sam and says, "Hey, man!"

Sam says, "What's up, tic tac?"

Scott sighs and says, "Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time when-"

Sam cuts him off saying, "It was a great audition, but it'll never happen again."

Steve asks, "They tell you what we're up against?"

Scott says, "Something about psycho assassins?"

Steve says, "We're on our side of the law on this one. So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man."

Scott sighs and says, "Yeah, what else is new?"

Bucky speaks up and says, "We should get moving."

Clint says, "We got a chopper lined up."

As he says that, a man starts talking on the speaker in German. Gaia knew what they were saying and at the same time as Bucky says, "They're evacuating the airport."

Bucky looks over to the girl slightly shocked and Gaia just smiles at him. Sam then tells Steve, "Stark."

Scott asks, "Stark?"

Steve looks at him but tells everyone, "Suit up."
