Protecting Bucky

As Steve calls Natasha after the Vienna incident, Sam and Gaia are eating in a cafe. Gaia just looks down and picks at her food, moving it around, which is strange because she never says no to food. Sam sees this and says, "Alright, what's wrong?"

Gaia doesn't answer and just drinks her water. Sam sighs and says, "Come on, just talk to me. I have never seen you this quiet. What's going on?"

She laughs a bit while saying, "I'm so over this superhero thing."

Sam gives her a confused look and asks, "What do you mean?"

Gaia sighs and starts to say, "This whole ... incident. I should've stopped when the whole Ultron problem happened. I just feel like somethings wrong with me. Like I'm just... chaos."

Sam sighs and tells her, "Nothing is wrong with you. You're not chaotic."

Gaia gives him a look and says, "You wanna go visit the graves of the people that I've killed and ask them?"

Sam sighs once more and says, "That was not your fault. Yes, people died but you had no choice. If you wouldn't have done that, everyone would've died."

She gives him a look again and sits back in her seat with her arms crossed while saying, "You really want me to believe that? If you count every bad thing from there to now, you don't see how that all comes back to me? So, how is that not my fault?"

Sam is quiet for a second before saying, "You're right, it is your fault."

Before Gaia could respond he continued with, "But if you didn't do that, millions of other people would be dead. Yes, your at fault but so are we, so are all of us. You can't be pulling yourself down because of this or you'll never recover. You just have to deal with it and move forward."

Gaia looks at him and says, "You're starting to sound like Steve. Who knew Sam Wilson could be so wise?"

Sam gives her a fake dirty look and says, "Go back to being quiet and eat your damn food."

She squints her eyes, gives him the same look, and starts to eat as Steve walks back into the cafe.

He stops right next to Sam and Sam asks, "She tell you to stay out of it?"

Gaia looks up and says, "She's kinda right."

Steve responds with, "He'd do it for me."

Sam says, "1945, maybe. I just want to make sure we all consider our options. The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at us."

Sharon walks in and says, "Tips have been pouring and since that footage went public. Everyone thinks the Winter Soldier goes to the gym, most of it's noise. Except for this. My boss expects a briefing, pretty much now. So, that's all the headstart you're going to get."

She hands him a file and he thanks her. She nods and says, "You're gonna have to hurry. We have orders to shoot on sight."

She grabs her coat then leaves.
