Stranded

Preperations.

I ignored everyone's presence except my mom.
"Morning mom" I said in a bright tone. Usually I greet everyone.
"Morning Talaya" she replied reading the newspaper. Jessica scowled at me as I opened the door to catch the bus.
"BYEEEEEEE!!" Izzy squealed in her usual high pitch three year old voice.

Austin's POV
"GET UP" a drunken groggy voice shouted.
I moaned. My mistake.
I felt rough hands jerk me up and toss me to the ground. My head was the first thing that made contact with the ground.
"You think because you go around winning competitions your all that?" He asked kicking me in the stomach and walking out.
I laid there for a few minutes going over what he just said in my head. He knows I won the competition. Why the hell did I do the freaking interview. I felt tears sting the corner of my eyes. I quickly brushed them away and got dressed. I walked into bathroom and immediently groaned. There was a noticeable bruise on my left cheek. Hopefully no on will notice...
TALAYA'S POV!!!!!
"What happened to your cheek" I asked Austin as he sat down next to me. The strange thing about him was he looked flushed and pale at the same time.
"I-I-I- I fell" he said avoiding making eye contact with me. A sure sign he was lying.
"Okay" I said pretending as if I believed him. Halfway through the class the principles deep voice disrupted me from my work.
"TALAYA FRANCOIS GO TO MR FERMAN NOW" the line cut off.
"Ooooooh your in trouble" Cj said smirking. I didn't bother to answer him as I walked towards the door.
I felt someone staring at me so instinctively I turned around and was greeted by two pairs of greenish blueish eyes looking back at me.
Usually he would retreat his gaze to something besides me or behind me. This time he didn't he held my gaze and I held his. I don't know why but for a millisecond I looked over at Cj. His large brown eyes were looking over at us too. This was too weird for me. After what seemed like forever I opened the door and stepped into the chilly winter air. I stepped into the hallway and observed our distasteful school. The color of our lockers originally blue had turned brown from rust. There was gum all over the floor some old some still fresh. Small animals rome our campus looking for the constantly dropping food from students. My heart began to beat faster as I knocked on Mr. Ferman's door. He opened it all smiles.
"Why don't you sit down for this Talaya" he said.
"Am-am I in trouble" I asked.
"No I'll explain it all" he said.
"Ok" I mumbled.
I sat down in one of his green plush chairs and immediently sank.
"Don't disappear on me now. I've lost to many kids in there all ready" he said smiling.
"Sometimes you want to disappear Mr Ferman" I said remembering everything that's happened to me this week.
He cleared his throat and said
"Yes well, anyways i bet your wondering why your here!"
He cut me off before I could say anything.
"Let me cut to the chase. Your well aqquainted with Austin right well he's decided to take you on the cruise with him. You leave tonight actually and Austin was wondering if before you leave you could come over. I've phoned your parents to ask and they've agreed. So today you will take the bus with Austin. Your bags are already packed and waiting for you at Austins house. There is another student who is also going on the cruise for a different reason. He has asked not to be mentioned yet" he droned not even stopping for a breath. I didn't know my we mouth was hanging open until he said
"you can catch a fish with a mouth that wide!"
I closed my mouth and smiled sheepishly.
"Can I go back to class now" is all I said. He pursed his lips but nodded quickly writing me a pass and shoving it to me.
I smiled and waved and ran out the door. On the outside I was quiet hardly making any noise as my feet touched the floor. But with each step I took I screamed louder and louder mentally as I processed what was going on. I was going to Austins house then going to Hawaii I'm ready for the best day ever. I walked into math class and I felt as light as air. For once I couldn't focus In math and didn't understand a single thing the teacher said.'I glanced at the clock I was suppose to be meeting Austin by the bus in 10 minuets!
After what seemed like 10 hours the day was finally over. I was surprised to see Cj Rush out like his hair was on fire. No pun intended.
I quickly packed my stuff and ran out. The air was still chilly and the only thing different about the ugly scenery was that there where now over 4,000 kids crowding the hall.
I rushed into the traffic jam as eager as the other kids to get away from this filthy place.
"Move it"
"Watch it"
"Stop it you pervert" I heard a squeaky voice yell.
I looked behind me to see Myla the head cheerleader at our school being lifted above Devin greens shoulder.
"WOO LOOK AT ME I CAN TOUCH THE ROOF" she shouted touring above everyone.
I swear Myla is the dumbest bitch at our school.
Anyways I walked up to the ugliest bus I have ever seen in my entire life.
And it was beautiful.
I climbed inside showing the bus driver my student idea. I eagerly looked around for Austin. I finally spotted him looking at the window lost in thought. The seat next to him was occupied by some emo kid.
(I added this because people kept asking me if Austin was emo cause he wears a black sweater all the time and doesn't take it off no he's not emo.) I looked around for another seat and discovered the same result as it had been in the library. Guess who I have to sit next to. Cj!!!
I reluctantly sat down.
"Why do you keep sitting next to me" he snapped.
"We've had this conversation before and I don't feel like having it again" I growled giving him the cold shoulder.
"Well fine I didn't feel like talking to you anyways" he huffed turning his back towards me. He began to type on his phone and began to play I'm in love with the co co. To my surprise a few people began to sing along until the whole bus even the bus driver was singing:

I rolled my eyes I was about to yell at CJ and tell him to shut his fucking phone off when I felt him nudge me.
"Come on I know you want to" he said smirking.
"No" I stated.
"Sing one line" he said.
"Hell no" I said crossing my arms.
"Please" he asked.
"Wow I didn't know you had manners" I cried.
"Finnnnnnne" I groaned.
"I fucking hate stupid Co Co and who ever made this song's a hoe hoe" I said.
He rolled his large eyes.
"Austin Talaya this is your stop" the bus driver said. Austin hopped up and came over to my seat smiling.
"Shall we go" he asked.
"Yes we shall" I said trying to mock his British accent.
I heard Cj scowl beside me
"Well go already" he said.
We walked into his house and I instantly coughed. It smelled like alcohol and smoke.
"I'm sorry! My dad smokes" he said looking at the ground.
"No no no it's fine I don't have a problem with the smoke" I lied. I have a mild case of asthma.
He smiled letting his two dimples encase his cheeks.
"Are you hungry" he asked.
"To be honest yea" I said smiling.
"My dad won't be home till six probably and we don't leave for the cruise Until 7:30 so I'll take you out" he said his smile growing wider. I blushed.
Was this a date? Do I want to date him? Does he like me?
Out of all these question I said
"Where too and do you have money?"
He laughed and said
"A burger place downtown and my aunt owns the place she owns the place so she lets me in for free."
"Alright" I inquired.
We stepped into the chilly air once again.
