We finished eating lunch quickly too quickly for my liking but Talaya said we had to hurry. I am super relived that my dad wasn't at home at the moment. Not that we would have to go home anyways. We talked about a lot of things but our conversation kept going back to that Cj dude. While we're away I'm plot going to think about anyone or anything negative and that includes Cj.
"So we're suppose to go to half moon bay city beach to meet our cruise ship" I asked changing the subject.
"Yep that's what the brochure says. I think we should get going now" she said throwing me a 1000 watt smile. "It's too bad I didn't get to meet your dad" she said looking genuinely dissapointed.
"Maybe next time" I said as we walked out of the restaurant. Maybe never I thought.
I was glad the train station was just by the restaurant so we got there rushing in quickly.
TALAYA'S POV
I always hated going in the subway. The scenery was almost as bad as our school scenery. Almost. When we rushed inside I slipped on a subway drink cup.
I let out a shriek of surprise. I closed my eyes and waited for myself to cling to the ground and for pain to explode in my stomach. But it didn't come.
I slowly opened my eyes and instantly felt my face flush. Austin had caught me and had one arm clasped around my stomach.
"Oh um thanks" I said moving out of his firm grip.
"No problem" he said staring at his feet. We walked side by side and walked into the train that people where already beginning to board.
The clean smelling air instantly changed as we stepped into the train. It smelled of body odor food and sickness. That's when I noticed a small pool of vomit sitting by a small boy who was by himself. Austin and I exchanged unsure glances before taking a seat across from each other. After about five minuets of counting how many people would walk in we began to move. The train lurched causing the boy that had thrown up before to throw up again. Passengers gasped and backed away not wanting to be sick. I gagged as the smell intensified.
"Pssst hey pretty lady" the guy with the tattoo whispered.
"What?" I asked not really in the mood to chit chat with some chubby dude with a long beard and a leather jacket.
"Wanna buy a parrot?" He asked me pulling out a cage.
There was a wind up toy in the cage. I scowled and said
"No thank you I think I'll pass"
"Come on look the little birdie like you!" He growled.
"She doesn't want a bird" a voice that sounded far away said. I looked around the bus to find who said that.
I saw him.
"CJ?!" I croaked my mouth gaping. He was wearing a red puma sweater and green neon shorts.
"No one was talkin' to ya curly" he said.
"What's a pretty thing doing traveling alone? You should come with me" he said. I scoffed and stood up. But his giant clamped around my arm and pulled me back down in my seat. I gasped in shock as the back of my head made contact with the window.
I looked around for Austin where the heck was he. Did he leave the train and forget that I was with him?
"Oh it looks like this is our stop come on Amelia" CJ said grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the train before I could protest.
Once we where outside
"LET GO OF ME YOU CREEP" I shouted whacking him on the hand hard.
"Ow! What was that for?" He whined.
"For everything" I said glaring so hard that if looks could kill he'd be seven feet u derground. Seven not six.
"Oh from saving you from getting kidnapped?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"May I remind you that we are both in seventh grade which means you are not the boss of me. I can get kidnapped if I want to" I added that last part and watched for his reaction.
He burst out laughing
"I can get kidnapped if I want to" he said in between laughs.
"It's not funny" I said glaring at him.
He stopped laughing and frowned at something behind me.
"What?" I asked.
His frown was quickly replaced with a glare.
"What are you doing here" a familiar voice said behind me.
I spun around to see Austin.
"I was about to ask you the same question" CJ said crossing his arms and glaring really really hard.
"We're going on a cruise together" I quickly said.
CJ stopped glaring and smirked
"Then I guess we bêtter get going" he said.
I stared at him when realization kicked in. CJ was the other kid!
I groaned looking at CJ. His face fell for a millisecond before it was replaced by his permanent smirk.
He began to walk in the direction of the beach. Austin and I slowly stalked behind.
CJS POV
I tried to play it off like it didn't matter that she didn't want me around but I was secretly fuming. I just saved her from the possibilities from getting raped and how does she thank me by punching me in the arm. What a bitch. I hate having her in my class. No I don't. Gahhh I'm so confused. I'm not even sure what I'm doing here right now. It had something to do with my academic achievement or something like that. I could hear Austin and Talaya talking in low voices on our way to the beach.
"Guys" I said.
They either didn't hear me or ignored me.
"Guys" I tried again.
"WHAT" they both shouted in usion. I cringed a bit before I said
"We're here."
TALAYAS POV
I have to admit I felt a bit bad when we yelled at him. I saw him cringe.
To say the boat is huge is an understatement.
"Whoa!" I said as we rushed into the boat.
There was a man about 28 wearing an all white uniform I assumed he was the captain.
"Hello I am your captain. You will not see me much or at all on the ship. I expect you not to make trouble on this ship. Do not give the maids and waitresses on this ship any trouble or God so help me I'll toss all of you into the ocean do I make myself clear?" He shouted.
"LOUD and clear" I snapped which made CJ and Austin snicker. The captain marched away.
"What do we do now" CJ asked clearly confused.
"We explore the ship dummy" I said.
"No it's getting late you will go into your ship rooms" a voice behind us said making us all jump.
She handed us some papers and angrily stomped off.
"What is with the people on this ship" Austin asked.
"They are angry because they have to be around you" CJ sneered.
"Are you sure it's not because your here CJ" I spat. CJ rolled his eyes and looked at his paper.
"It says that I should go to ship room 6-3" CJ said.
I looked at my paper and sucked in my breath.
"It says I should go to ship room 7-5" Austin said.
They both looked at me expectantly. I stared blankly at the paper as I read the numbers.
"R-room 6-3" I said gulping.
I was in for a long night.
