I listened to the soft breathing of the boys. I shifted on the ground uncomfortably. I needed to find Austin and Cj, as much as I hated Cj I needed to know they were safe. I got up and began to tip toe out of the room quietly. I could see a shadow move at the corner of my eye, but I chose to ignore it. As I stepped out into the open forest I had the ominous feeling that I was being watched.

"Show yourself" I said, willing my voice not to shake. I heard some footsteps and a boy with striking green eyes stepped out. He was at least a head taller than me, and was very attractive. He had black hair that fell into his face and bright eyes. He had a frown on his face. "Why are you following me" I said standing up straight.

"To make sure your not killed when you search for your friends" he said. I made a clicking sound with my tounge. I could feel tears rimming the corner of my eyes. His face softened. "It's ok to cry" he said taking a step closer to me. I backed up into a tree and could feel the tears sliding down my cheeks. "I'll help you find them. I can sniff them out." He suggested. I nodded and smiled a bit.

"W-what's your name?" I asked through sniffs.

"Just call me Dagger." He said. "Do you have anything they have used or touched?" Dagger asked me. I was about to say no before I realized I still had Cj's baseball cap. I opened my backpack and pulled it out. "Step back" he warned. And I did as he said still clutching the baseball cap. I watched as he transformed into a wolf. He was a huge silver wolf with dark black eyes. He gestured for me to get in his back. I gave him a hesitate look but he took a step toward me. I shrugged and sat on his back. He was surprisingly soft. He gave the cap a sniff and began to run at full speed into the forest. I clutched onto his fur, as he picked up the pace. He jumped over fallen branches and twigs. As we accelerated speed we came to a sandy area. That's when I saw him. Cj was on the ground, curled into a tight ball. His hair which was usally springy and full of life. Was dull.

"That's him!" I whisper shouted. I could hear him groaning. His eyes were squeezed shut. As I got closer I could see what bad condition he was in. His ribs were showing, and his white shirt was covered in blood. He had cuts all over his body, and he reeked of blood.

"Cj!" I shouted running to him, and tripping multiple times.

"Talaya?" He asked his voice extremely weak. I kneeled down to him. Dagger was next to me panting softly. Cj shot back and cried out in pain. He gritted his teeth as he looked at Dagger.

"Talaya get away from that! They attacked me! He could hurt you!" He rasped grabbing my hand and pulling me towards him. For someone who was near death, he was surprisingly strong, a good sign. I yanked my hand away and walked back to Dagger who gave an apprehensive whine.

"It's ok" I whispered to him. I turned to Cj. "He won't hurt you. The wolves that attacked you weren't wolves. They were rouges." I said. He gave me a thoughtful look.

I could hear a howl in the distance. " we got to go." I said grabbing Cj and pulling him up. He groaned San Dagger stood up. He again gestured for us to sit on his back. I gave him a look.'

"Both of us will be too heavy for you." I told him. He looked at me, I could tell his wolf was laughing. He gestured again. I groaned and sat on his upper end. Cj sat on his lower end.

"Wrap your arms around my waist Cj." I instructed sharply. He didn't object as he wrapped his bony arms around me. I shuddered as the cold wind whipped my hair back. Dagger began to run his speed accelerated with every step.

"Whoa" Cj said cautiously as he jumped over a branch. I giggled. One down one more to go.
