I slept by the shore that night. It was freezing and I couldn't stop thinking about how much I messed up. I know in some twisted way that this was all my fault. I moaned as guilt fear and nervousness mixed in my stomach. You know how you feel before you take a test that you didn't study for? That's how I feel right now. I finally gave up trying to sleep after the fourth time sand creeped into my shirt. I stood up and let the sand drain out. It was really dark and I couldn't see much. I debated whether I or not to head into the forest and look for Austin and Talaya.
TALAYAS POV
I know I didn't handle that well. I yelled at him and told him it was his fault. And the look on his face drove me into my own world of guilt.
"As much as I hate the guy. I don't think he deserves t-"
"Shut up! I know what I did was wrong! I'm not stupid I know! I know! It's not his fault! He didn't know the stupid boat would go berserk I know this! So why don't you just shut up!" I screamed silencing the whole forest.
Why am I acting like this? Why am I hurting the one person in school that I love.
Wait.
I did I just admit I loved Austin?
I don't like him. Do I?
Even if I liked him I'm sure he wouldn't like me back. Not after how I just thechincally h blamed both of them for being stranded on an island. A growl snapped me awake from my thoughts.
A saw 8 pairs of yellow eyes staring at me. Austin must have noticed too.
"Talaya don't move until I say" he ordered. He wouldn't have to worry about that because I was completely paralyzed. I screamed as the yellow eyed wolves jumped toward us.
"Run!" Austin howled as we took off zooming with the wolfs flat at our heels. I followed him crashing through the darkness and zooming through trees and bushes. We took off I didn't glance back to see if Austin was following me I crashed through bushes and trees. I jumped over small creeks or ran through them. My foot dug into a rock and I fell face first into the ground. I shrieked as I hit the ground.
"Austin" I whispered. The only reply was the wind. I sat in the silence. Panic began to sink in oh no I'm alone in the woods by myself I am going to die. I heard rustling in a bush and a strangled scream escaped my lips. But to my surprise a teenager like 17 came out of the bushes. He had one blue eye one green eye no lie. He had straight black hair and milky skin. He would have been the best looking person I've ever seen except he had a giant scar that started at the right top of his forehead and ended on his left cheek. He looked at me his eyes soft.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was about to start running again.
"shhhhhhhhhhh be quiet they'll find you here" he said his gaze softning.
"W-who will find me here?" I asked my eyes stinging with tears.
"Just come with me I'll explain" he said holding out his hand for me to grab it. I wasn't to big on trusting a stranger but what the heck? If I wait here I'll die. If you this dude is an ax murderer I die. The odds are not in my favor right now. I grabbed his hand and we began to walk.
"Whats your name?" I asked him. Even in the dark I could see him clench is jaws he had one hell of a jaw line.
"Scar" he said frowning. I made a face as if I tasted something bad.'
"I'm Talaya" I said.
"Beautiful name" he said. We walked and walked until I felt my feet almost fall off.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see" he said. I made a tisk noise with my tounge.
He stopped abruptly.'
"We're here" he said softly. In front of me was a camp site. There was lights coming through all the little huts.
"Here?!" I practically shrieked.
"Well in case you haven't noticed your on an island with no electricity this is a major improvement" he said smirking. God I hate it when boys smirk.
"Whatever" I said. We walked into an un lit hut there where like 3 other teens sleeping on the ground. All shirtless. A breath caught in my throat as I looked at the blond one. He looked vaguely familiar.
"Cody Cody wake up" he said shaking the one with curly brown hair awake.
"What" he groaned rubbing his temples.
"We have a guest" he whispered to Cody. Cody blinked his eyes a blazing orange color. Wtf?
I was about to scream when I felt a pair of strong arms grab my waistband put a hand over my mouth.
"It's ok" the voice said softly. I looked up to see scar. If I wasn't so scared right now I would have been mortified and embarrassed. He let go of his grasp.
"Guys it's almost morning and if we're lucky the rouges won't attack us" he said.
I stared at him super confused.
"Rouges?" I asked.
"She doesn't know?" The curly haired one said.
"We're werewolves" Scar said exiting the room causally. I didn't bother to hold back I screamed as loud as I could.
