Chapter 52 - "All well that ends well..."

Manik Office: Conference Room: 11:15 am:

As the person rushed towards the table, Manik and Aryamaan looked at him with sheer disbelief.

Aryamaan: (With astonishment) "Cabir! What are you doing here?"

All the members except Soha were looking at each other in confusion. They couldn't believe that an official meeting can be converted to a personal argument and that is so dramatically. Cabir looked all around. His expression was unapologetic.

Cabir: (Determinedly) "I am here to give all the justifications of those lies that have created all the confusion in our life. Gentlemen, I am sorry to intrude like this but I had to. Because I know Manik can't say anything to prove his innocence and as a sensible person I can't see anybody getting humiliated for a false reason. Before saying anything, let me introduce myself. I am Cabir Dixit. Manik and Aryamaan both are my friends. Navya Varma is my girlfriend. Another introduction of mine is I am one of the landlords of Mr Manik and here lie all the reasons for the drama."

Just then Navya entered the room, panting. Manik eyed her and she wobbled in defeat. Cabir noticed Navya and turned at Soha.

Cabir: (Sarcastically) "Ms Sanyal, I know that you know all these long ago and were just trying to take revenge from Manik by framing him falsely. You made Aliya misunderstand and used her as a pawn. But unfortunately, your all game backfired. Okay, not to be more mysterious...Aryamaan (he turned at him) ... Manik is neither cheating on Nandini nor on Gattu as Nandini and Gattu is not any different person. Yes, Nandini herself is Gattu and her other identity is; she is Manik's wife."

It seemed that Aryamaan could gulp a whole elephant at once as he opened his mouth like a big hoarding. On the other side, Soha slouched in her chair like a defeated person.

Cabir: "Gentlemen, Manik had to hide her marital status for some personal reason which I don't think is needed to discuss here. But the thing is Ms Soha Sanyal has created this confusion deliberately to defame Manik in this office. The reason is very clear. Her jealousy and professional competition. I think I have given all justifications which were needed. Now, if you all permit can I borrow Manik and Navya for some hours? Actually, her wife is not well and she wants to see him."

Before anybody could say anything Manik sprung up and grabbed Cabir's biceps. He finally overcame his dazed mode.

Manik: (Puzzled and worried) "Cabir, what happened? What happened to Nandini? She was at home...right? Cabir...say something."

He almost broke down. Cabir placed his hands on his shoulder and made him sit on the chair.

Cabir: (In a grave tone) "Relax, Manik. She is alright. Everything is okay. But you need to come with me. The confusion or Golmal you both have created, needed to be sorted out. Some have been accidentally revealed and some yet needed to be cleared by you. So, let's go to your home. Navya and Arya...you both come with us. You both were part of this drama, so, you need to know all in detail."

Navya bobbed with moist eyes while Aryamaan was still in a baffled state. Before leaving the meeting room Manik neared Soha who was sitting on her chair, slumping like a dead loss.

Manik: (sedately) "Ms Soha Sanyal...you know when I joined this office and met you for the first time, I really admired you... as a confident and competent woman, as a careerist and ambitious girl and of course as an efficient boss. But you lost all my respect when you took my denial as an insult and challenge. To prove your point, you did so many things that you forgot that by bringing out my truth you are actually revealing your truth, your hollow ego. I always knew that I am right and one day it will come out. But today I am feeling pity for you. Your ego actually overshadowed all your good qualities. If possible, think about it. Was my NO that much worthy to keep your career and capabilities at stake? Think about it."
