Adalyn's P.O.V:
"Oy! Kid." My dad said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turned to him, barely reacting to his voice.
"You startled me." I said flatly, crossing my arms. My dad raised an eyebrow at me, drumming his fingers on his desk. "You're not one for emotion, are you?" He asked, the corner of his lip tugging upwards slightly. I shrugged. "It's ironic that you're talking to me about emotions."
My dad stood up and hovered over me. With myself being 5'6, his 5'11 stance put me into his shadow. [A/N: Levi is taller than his original height of 160 cm in this fanfic, but shorter than the other characters so he's still called shorty.] "What's that supposed to mean?"
Shrugging, I backed up and kept a straight face. "Everyone was talking about it. All they said was that you're humanities strongest, that you're so great, and um... How you tend to not let your emotions show through your hard exterior." When I finished, I looked up at him.
"When did they say that?" He asked, looking out the window of his study with his hands behind his back. "When they were questioning me."
"Questioning?"
My dad looked back at me with a curious look. I nodded vigorously, not breaking eye contact. "Yes. They said that they wanted to test me to see if I'm not some assassin or something like that. They wanted me to prove that I'm your daughter."
He merely sighed, his expression somewhat softening. "Look, Adalyn. I already know that you're my daughter. It's obvious, there's really no reason for me or my squad to be skeptical about it. You look like me, you've got that drawing, you even act like me, for Wall Maria's sakes."
I nodded in agreement. My dad then made his way towards me, and did something rather unexpected.
He hugged me.
"Welcome home, my little brat."

Petra's P.O.V:
"Welcome home, my little brat." I heard Levi say as I peeked through a crack in his office door. Looking at his face, I've never seen him so... Content. The smirk on his face as he hugged his daughter was so... Lovely.
"I like seeing Heichou like this." I admitted, looking away from the crack and turning my vision to Hanji. She squealed in delight, shoving me over into Erwin.
Erwin sighed as he helped me up. "So, from what you're telling me... This girl's an... Ackerman?" He asked, confused. I nodded. "Somewhat. She took after her mom's name, Clarke, I believe it was."
Hanji nodded at me. "Adalyn claims that her mother was Evangeline Clarke, and that she was sent here by her."
Erwin's eyes widened. Hanji and I exchanged looks and furrowed our eyebrows.
"What is it, Commander?"
Erwin gave us a stern look. "Impossible..." He whispered, turning away from us, swiftly walking towards his study. Hanji and I went after him, walking fast enough to catch up to his speed. "Erwin, what's wrong with Evange-"
Commander stoppped and sighed. "Adalyn can't be a Clarke... There's no way." He said, and began walking again. leaving Hanji and I behind.
Hanji then spoke up. "Why-"
Erwin turned sharply towards us and looked each of us in the eye.
"Because Evangeline Clarke is dead."
