Chapter 27

I woke up in John’s arms. I slowly and  carefully got out and went to brush my teeth. Then I decided to make us breakfast. I pulled out everything I needed and got to work.

“What smells so good?” I turned and looked at John quickly and smile.

“Breakfast. Now sit and eat.” He nodded and sat at the table and looked at everything I put in front of him.

“Rach this is delicious!”

“Thanks Johnny boy. I learned from the best.”

“How did you learn to cook so well. I know for a fact it wasn’t your father.” I laughed at that.

“Nah, a certain chef called Gordon Ramsey.”

“Wow Rach. That was so good thank you.” That’s when I was able to get a really good look at him. His eye was swollen.

“John?”

“Hmmm?”

“Your eye. You need to get that checked out.”

“Oh I'm fine Rach don’t worry about it.”

“Oh no you are not pulling that crap with me. I want to make sure you are fine and its nothing serious so we are going to visit the eye doctor today.”

“Rach I'm fi..” I cut him off.

“Nope you aren’t at least it doesn’t look like it.”

“Fine.” I smiled knowing I had won. He went to go change in the bathroom and so I went in the room. Once I finished putting on my makeup I unplugged my phone and grabbed my purse I opened to door and literally ran into John. He caught be before I fell to the floor. I realized our faces were only inches apart. Finally we snapped out of it and headed out to the car so we could go to the doctors.

-Skip Doctors Appointment-

“I told you I was fine Rachel.”

“John it’s a scratched cornea nothing serious but still it’s good to know.”

“Okay. I guess you’re right.”

“I know I'm right Johnny now come on vamonos. Mama needs some coffee.”

“And what makes you think I’ll take you?”

“Would you like me to walk?” I opened the car door. He raised an eyebrow. I know what he’s thinking. He thinks I won’t actually get out. I laughed when his phone started ringing I took that as my chance. I grabbed my purse and got out and started walking the opposite way that he was driving. I saw a café about a half a mile away. Finally got there and entered. The whole place like froze when they all saw me. I just pretended like nothing was happening and walked to the counter to order. The guy looked around my age I got to admit he was very attractive. After ordering and paying he started to talk to me.

“So can I get you anything else? Maybe my number.”

Then suddenly I felt someone slide their arm around my waist and I saw the café worker go pale.

“Sorry bub. Not happening.” I knew that voice.

“S-s-sorry s-s-sir I-I d-didn’t know.” He stuttered out. I turned around and saw Dwayne. I gave him a look and he just smiled at me and then ordered what  he wanted. We went and sat at a table together.

“So what are you doing here alone?”

“First why did you do that? He was hot and you ruined it.” I pouted but he knew I was faking. He just shrugged and laughed.
