Edmunds head span as his eyes slowly opened. The first thing he saw were trees and immediately he felt calm, until he looked at what surrounded him.
There was a campfire and a layout of tents and...the witches followers.
This was not the 15th birthday he'd planned out at all.

"Happy Birthday!"
Was what Edmund had woken up to that morning. Lucy had party poppers, Susan attached a party hat to his head and peter had blown a party horn so loud that Edmund had fallen out of bed.
His heart rate calmed down eventually from the shock and then he laughed.
"Thanks for that lovely wake up call" he said sarcastically before Peter helped him up.
"You're 15 now, there's a lot to celebrate" peter said wrapping his arm around his brother who had grown almost as tall as him.
"Do I have to wear the party hat?" Edmund asked with a grimace.
"Yes! Because then everyone will know you're the birthday boy" peter said as they all walked out of the boys room to grab breakfast.

The festivities hadn't stopped all day and edmund had enjoyed all of it. He'd planned on spending his 15th birthday with his family and friends and that's what he did.
He'd played snap with a few fauns and won most of the games.
Mr and Mrs beaver had organised a chess tournament which Edmund had won with ease.
They even had a pin the tail on mr Tumnus which only made the faun raise his eyebrows.
The best part of the day was when an amazing blue and silver cake was brought out. Not to mention Peter carried in a large Jadis shaped piñata which made everyone laugh.
Edmund couldn't help but laugh at the concept and exaggerated features on the piñata.
"Wow Peter, you've outdone yourself" Edmund said with a laugh.
Peter handed him a bat.
"I think you've earnt this" he said before standing back.
Edmund swung the bat in his hand and in one hit broke the piñata in half, sweets falling everywhere.
Everyone cheered and Edmund laughed, happy to be able to enjoy this birthday and even joked that may usually remind him of a much worse time.

It was after dinner where everything went wrong. It was him who'd asked to go out riding with Peter, and of course peter wouldn't say no. It was his little brothers birthday.
Not to far into their trip in the forest, Edmund had felt something heavy hit him on the back of the head. Then he remembered falling and seeing darkness. That's when he'd woken up. Surrounded by trees and followers who he'd thought to be dead.

Edmund immediately shifted when he realised where he was, only to realise that his hands were tied uncomfortably behind him. He was tied to a thin tree and he could see peter tied to one next to him.
"Thank Aslan you're awake" peter said.

Edmund could feel the warmth of blood running down the side of his head. Peter must've thought he hadn't been going to wake up.
Edmund just shrugged "I'm starting to wish I hadn't woken up, my head really hurts"

"They knocked us out, it's bound to hurt" peter mentioned as he struggled to get out of his restraints.
"I've never seen this camp in the forest before" Edmund pointed out.
Peter stopped struggling and looked around.
"I know..."
"I've not seen so many of the witches followers since.."
"I know.."

Edmund went silent before observing his surroundings. He'd gotten smarter and a lot more strategic since then.
He'd been young and naive, now he knew he could work with peter to get out of this.
"Okay Pete...are there any sharp rocks near you?" Edmund asked.
Peter glanced at the ground and stretched his hands around on the small patch of land they could extend to.
"No. You?" Peter asked glancing over at Edmund.
Edmund hoped there would be but there was no luck.
"Okay...well I'll just have to...."
