Peter walked through the door that night, as usual he put his bag down and headed upstairs to sleep, school was tiring.
"Peter" Susan said before he could even take one step up the stairs
"Yes..." peter said, the tone of his voice flat with boredom.
"I heard about the fight..." Susan said disappointedly.
"Oh...well then you know that it was reasonable" peter retaliated, turning around to head upstairs.
"Peter..." Susan said grabbing his arm gently "he's your brother..." she said quietly and peter sighed, knowing deep down that she was right

"For the last time edmund, stop jumping in to help me" peter muttered as they walked down the school hall, bags of books weighing them down from their classes.
"Maybe I wouldn't have to help if you didn't start fights in the first place. It sounds exhausting" Edmund said honestly, knowing how bad tempered peter had gotten after their return from the golden age of narnia.
"I know you still feel a lot older than 18" Edmund said, knowing how it felt.
"Everyone treats me like a kid" peter said sighing.
"Starting fights is childish" Edmund said plainly, knowing peter needed to hear the truth "it's not right"
"What would you know about doing the right thing?" Peter challenged, standing in front of his brother.
"Peter...you're upset...I know you're just trying to start another..."
"You're just as bad as me. Or at least you were, now you're the schools favourite" peter snapped and Edmund just shook his head.
"Because I help people and do nice things, it's not a crime Pete. Get used to it" he said with sigh "you're not a king here" Edmund which only made peter more blind with anger.
"I could prove to you that I am" peter said, getting defensive.
"Peter stop trying to start this..."
"I was more of a king than you ever were Edmund, I was the high king, you were the other king" peter said.
His words hurt Edmund but he just took a breath. His anger was just as much as peters.
"You're not always right 'peter the magnificent'" he snapped back, being able to definitely stand up for himself. He walked passed peter who's hands were shaking with frustrating.
"Try me, traitor" peter snapped back and Edmund stopped in his path and clenched his fists. Peter wasn't expecting Edmund to start a fight, never mind throw the first punch.

Edmund was sat on his window ledge, staring out at the dark sky, knowing he should've been asleep a while ago. He had a few bruises from his fight with peter and he ached all over. He heard a small knock at his door and he heard it slowly break open.
"Ed?" He heard Susan said from the doorway.
"I know I should be asleep.." Edmund said, knowing Susan was prone to acting like his mother. "I'll go to sleep in a minute..."
"I came to check on you....I heard about the fight today..."
Edmund sighed and headed over to sit on his bed.
"I know you threw the first punch which....actually surprised me. We all know you were clearly provoked but....are you alright?" Susan asked calmly, being the mature older sister that she always was.
"No..." he said "peter hurt me....he didn't just fight me, he hurt my feelings. Which hurts more than a few bruises" Edmund said shrugging.
"Whatever he said, he didn't mean it. He regrets it. I know he does" Susan said.
"How Do you know?" Edmund asked raising his eyebrows.
"Because he's downstairs making you pancakes as an apology" Susan said smiling and Edmund couldn't help but smile back.
"He can be nice when he wants to be" Edmund said honestly. He looked down a little.
"Did he mention....your....unreasonable time in...narnia...?" Susan asked quietly.
"You know you can just say 'jadis' right?" Edmund said forcing a laugh to cover his pain of bad memories.
"Yes....yes he did in...in a way. I think he knew how to get me angry" Edmund said.
"Well....he's ready to apologise.." Susan said.
"Should I go talk to him?" Edmund asked, unsure whether he should.
"Yes, he may have a lot of pancakes for you though" Susan said Edmund smiled, hugging Susan before he ran downstairs. If peter had made pancakes then that was a sign of a true apology.
